i use this for most of my rendering, i have modified this brush to have one with higher density for sharper edges and one with lower density for smoother transitions between colors ↓

https://assets.clip-studio.com/zh-tw/detail?id=1358981 i use 'Chalk Dust Bristle' from DAUBBrushes' dry media set for my background textures. i also used to use 'chalk two' a lot 2 or so years ago, its still a good brush (Daub brushes' dry media is for 5,99 euros btw ;-; but it has a lot of chalky textures so it might be useful)
