Linda and her stupid husband
CUTIES
ππ : Linda McCartney covering her husbands, Paul McCartney's, mouth, 1985
β Paul McCartney had a special look for his wife, Linda. Itβs a look that is kinda wide-eyed, kinda relaxed, kinda goofy. Itβs a look that shows a guy whoβs really in love. Millions of photographs have been taken of the former Beatle, the most popular living songwriter of the rock βnβ roll era. But only one photographer captured that look on film β Linda McCartney. Paul McCartney laughs as he remembers how she did it. βI would start posing, doing those things the photographers tell you to do like `look over your shoulderβ or `look over thereβ and she would say, `Oh, stop doing that. Just be natural,ββ he said, calling from his recording studio in southern England, where he is wrapping up production on a new album. βI would say, `What? You donβt want my gorgeous look into the camera?ββ McCartney continued. βAnd she would say, `No. No, thanks.β" β

ππ : Linda McCartney, 1960s
β We stopped eating meat many years ago. During the course of a Sunday lunch we happened to look out of the kitchen window at our young lambs playing happily in the fields. Glancing down at our plates, we suddenly realized that we were eating the leg of an animal who had until recently been playing in a field herself. We looked at each other and said, "Wait a minute, we love these sheep-they're such gentle creatures. So why are we eating them?" It was the last time we ever did. β

John and George had this encounter 50 years ago.
Crazy
ππ : James and Linda McCartney, London, 1981
β James is studying architecture now, but neither Paul nor I would be surprised if he moves into music, as he has such a passion for playing. β
- Linda McCartney
ππ : Paul McCartney's 21st birthday, June 18th 1963, where John Lennon got into a fight with Bob Wooler after Bob called Lennon a queer man after his holiday in Spain with manager, Brian Epstein.
β At the party, the boysβ old friend Bob Wooler, the Cavern emcee, made a crack to John about his holiday. John, whoβd had plenty to drink, exploded. He leapt on Bob, and by the time he was dragged off Bob had a black eye and badly bruised ribs. I took John home as fast as I could, and Brian drove Bob to the hospital.
I was appalled that John had lashed out again. Iβd thought those days were over. But John was still livid, muttering that Bob had called him a queer. A day or two later when he had cooled down he was ashamed. He kept repeating, βOh, God, Cyn, what have I done?β He sent Bob a telegram saying, βReally sorry Bob stop terribly worried to realise what I had done stop what more can I say John Lennon.β Unfortunately the local press got hold of the story and the [national] Daily Mirror ran it, which didnβt help Johnβs image. He swore heβd never do anything like it again and, to my knowledge, he didnβt, certainly for as long as we were together. β
-Cynthia Lennon talking about the fight.
Pattie Boyd quotes :
(These are all quotes from her book)
β Eric and I were playmates, but George and I were soul mates, and I had let something special go without analyzing what was happening between us. β
- Boyd talking about her husbands Eric Clapton and George Harrison.
β On first impressions, John seemed more cynical and brash than the others, Ringo the most endearing, Paul was cute, and George, with velvet brown eyes and dark chestnut hair, was the best-looking man I'd ever seen. At the break for lunch I found myself sitting next to him, whether by accident or design I have never been sure. We were both shy and spoke hardly a word to each other, but being close to him was electrifying. β
- Boyd talking about her experience meeting the Beatles on the set of 'A Hard Day's Night'.
β Being the muse of two such extraordinarily creative musicians and having beautiful, powerful love songs written about me was enormously flattering but it put the most tremendous pressure on me to be the amazing person they must have thought I wasβand secretly I knew I wasnβt. I felt I had to be flawless, serene, someone who understood every situation, who made no demands but was there to fulfill every fantasy; and thatβs someone with not much of a voice. Itβs not realistic: no one can live up to that kind of perfection. Now I feel I can be myselfβbut it took me quite a while to discover that and even longer to work out who I was exactly because the βmeβ in me had been hidden for so long. For most of my life Iβd been what others expected me to beβthe eight-year-old who could cope with boarding school, the protective, all-knowing older sister whom all her siblings looked up to, the sixties icon, the glamorous model. Do you have any idea what having your face on the front cover of Vogue does for the ego? β
- Boyd talking about how she was the muse for both of her husbands, Eric Clapton and George Harrison, and how she felt that she had to be perfect.
