Sore : Istri dari Masa Depan (Sore : Wife from the Future) is a really good movie that every In Star and Time player should watch, let's not get into why. My biggest gripes with the movie is that we have to watch the final boss of "I can fix him" falling stupid hard for the most mediocre babyman in fiction, but at some point I kinda grasp that Sore is as much or even more of a lost cause as he is, and you know what, I support women's wrongs. "Terbuang Dalam Waktu" I've contimplated how to translate this. "Lost in time" maybe the closest thing in english but I don't feel like it conveys the hopelessness of it. Especially when "Terbuang" is used, implying something was mistaken as trash and time is the trashcan. My intentions of using "trashed" isn't just to keep the original wording but I'm adding the idea of what they have is ruined or broken to them. I know "trashed" as a past tense of "trash" is not as common of a use than the use of it to express something is made a mess or ruined but i feel like it conveys it.

The idea that the song is about haunting memories is pretty clear but the idea that this is a desperate desire to forget is conveyed through the melody seemingly failing to ascend over and over again, almost like it's a useless effort. Multiple vocals harmonizing push the idea of something that is filling your brain agaisnt your will.

on the first few twitter migrations I give a bunch of websites a go and just got tired. It doesn't comfort me that a lot of tumblr and insta folks are selling both as better platform, idk if i'm just too tired but they all feels the same to me. it doesn't help that i'm just not used to tumblr and people makes it out to seems like I should, quickly. Language notes : - Yu' [ Mbakyu is a jawa kromo (basically the softest form of Javanese) honorific for young women. "Mbak" is a more common shortened version of it, this musical uses the less common "Yu'", it's a regional thing. Although often translated to "older sister", it can be also just use as a respectful honorific. I know a friend who refers to everyone in her age group using "mbak" or "mas" (masculine ver). when I use "mbak" and "mas" I use it when I don't know their age to avoid disrespecting them, preferably "Kak" (gender neutral indonesian honorific) so i don't have to assume their gender either, but some places "mbak/mas" is more prefered. there's also the use of someone more experienced than the speaker, a form of "senpai" if you will. More or less the line is when someone is supposed to be referred to in a higher honorific or someone clearly younger than the speaker.

in the musical alot of characters uses Yu' and Bu interchangeably ( bu is being short for ibu, honorific for and older women or mothers ) which says a bit about the age and status between the characters, which is older women (some characters even mentions having children) who are on friendly terms.

Also it's common to use non Indonesian honorifics when speaking Indonesian, and I feel like highlighting every use of non indonesian honorific is a bit much, so I kept all honorifics moving forward labelled in line with whatever language the characters are mainly speaking in during the time ]

- mata air and air mata [ mata air ( transliteration : water's eye ) means water springs, but if we flip the order, we have air mata ( transliteration : eye water ) which means tears. I feel like the play on words is lost in the translations ]

- Ijo [ Ijo is javanese for green but can also be used as an informal form of green in Indonesian (hijau). Although the whole musical uses a more poetic Indonesian as it's main, there's a lot of Javanese mixed in and interactions between characters are mostly using casual language. I choose to label "ijo" as Javanese because often times "Ijo" is followed with "royo" which is more clearly Javanese (it's "raya" in Indonesian) ]
