Hello! Here are some things I wanted to tell you about gardening. I personally often use these tips.
Useful tips with planting! ๐ฑ๐
Waxing Moon ๐: Plants that grow the edible parts above the ground and produce seeds outside the fruit (lettuces, broccoli, cauliflower, grains, spinach etc.)
Waning Moon ๐: Plants that grow the edible parts above the ground and produce seeds in the fruit (beans, melons, peas, tomatoes etc.)
Full moon๐: Plants that grow the edible parts below the ground (carrots, onions, beets) and perennials!
New moon๐: Focus on cleaning your Garden and harvesting.
When repotting or planting, your plants might be a little stressed out. Make sure to explain to them, why they must get a new home.
Give your plants space from each other! This way, they'll have more space to grow and they are safer from diseases.
Keeping your Garden safe ๐
If you're making a flower/herb bed outside, cover the area with old newspapers before adding the soil to prevent weeds from growing or to prevent some pests.
Draw sigils on the newspapers, pots or everywhere you feel they need to be drawn!
Sprinkle some coffee grounds, crushed eggshells and cinnamon around your plants to keep them safe from pests
Make your Garden a space birds, toads and other helpful animals can call home! Add some sources for water for them to bathe in and safe spaces for them to build their home.
Gardening pots can be put upside down with stones keeping it slightly open for making a home for toads.
Plant Basil, Chamomile, Dill, Marjoram, Mint, Rosemary or Sage for protection!
Cleanse your Garden regularly to protect your plant babies from negative energy!
DO NOT USE chemicals to kill pests, they will also kill the beneficial insects!
How to make your Garden grow ๐
Add Garden lime to the soil, I've found it very helpful!
Research about different types of gardens. Do you want a herb garden? A flower garden? A night garden? A faerie garden? A frog garden? The possibilities are endless!
Research about different plants and how they like their soil. Lavender, for example, likes sand and rocks!
Research about plants. Can you grow some of them from the seed or is it better to buy a seedling?
Please grow plants that are friendly to pollinators, such as colourful flowers!
Research about companion plants. Some of your plants love growing with their friends! Here are some of them!
Rosemary โค Broccoli, Sage
Basil โค Chamomile, Rosemary, TOMATOES
Parsley โค Asparagus, Corn, Tomatoes
The softer the leaves of the plant are, the more water it needs. Make sure to water your veggies often as well!
Treating your plants! ๐
Talk to your plants. They like your voice and with your breath you provide them with helpful ingredients in growing!
Play classical music or specific binaural beats - they encourage the plants to grow.
Have a tea party with your plants. No, but really, plants love it when you give them extra nutrients. Give them the water you use to boil your veggies in, or some compost mixed with water, or even some nettle tea!
Visiting a place with a dark-coloured lake or a river? It might have humus water, which is beneficial to your plants! Take a bottle for your plants as a souvenir - if you live there, you're damn lucky!
Perform a garden blessing to increase the wellbeing of your plants and/or to attract faeries!
Add some moss agate or other crystals to the soil to help your plants grow!
Never take all of the leaves/flowers/plants. Stick to a 1/3 rule to keep them growing!
Most plants love it when you harvest them! If you want a plant to grow more branches, it can be good to cut it!
If you feel like it, you can ask your plant for permission. Often it is given pretty quickly and the plant even needs it, but you never know if it needs time to grow.
May your plants grow well! ๐๐ฑ
