season 12 [gag reel]
Despite the fact that as soon as I set up my drawing stuff I fell asleep with my head on the table, this turned out okay!
I used these, mostly:
Well, I used three of them anyway - the top left pinky brown, the dark purple and the bottom right pale pink. They're Rembrandt pastels - a Desert Palette set. They're soft pastels, but not as soft as the really expensive ones. I used them on their sides, marking in areas of shadow and light and smudging with my fingers and then used the edges to get some lines for his profile, eye etc. So, it was mostly done before I used pastels pencils, in colours as close as I have:
These are Stabilo Carbothello pastel pencils, which are nice and soft and about £1.80 each.
Finally, I used one of my favourite General's charcoal pencils in 6B. These are such lovely pencils. Yum.
Anyway, I may have lost part of my inner workings and recovery may take a while, (and there'll be more chemo coming up - sigh...) but I can still draw! And actually, full disclosure, - because I think such things should be talked about and not hidden away - I now have an ileostomy (look it up). Which isn't as awful as you might think and I'm still going to the Comic Con in two weeks time, so there!
