[RANT ABT PURCON10 JENMISH PANEL]
actor supremacists need to learn to keep their bootlicking opinions to themselves. fuckass millionaire defenders. omfg the amount of people i’ve seen feeling overly bad for Jensen, as if he didn’t have the choice to shut the fuck up during that panel or ignore the question completely. (though i obviously also blame fuckass Misha Collins, he’s always there at the Destiel-shaped crime scene)
a bunch of people on Tumblr and Twitter hated the way Jensen responded to the Destiel panel question, me included. (fyi, everything that’s in quotations are DIRECT quotes from the PurCon10 Panel)
[the question: did Jensen see any validity in Destiel.]
his answer: "No.". Misha asked her(?) to elaborate on what she meant,
she responded with "When were you like, oh, well maybe I had kind of played into it at some point, or maybe when you were watching the series and you were like, oh I can see that people, that a lot of people actually see this romantic story playing out."
Then Jensen spoke again, making it clear that he definitely isn’t a fan of Destiel, but kept repeating the word 'fiction' a couple times, as if he had some sort of fucking point to make. when further explaining his answer, he said that he saw Dean/Cas more as a brotherhood (which is fine?? like, sure), but then out of nowhere not even a couple seconds later, he brings up Wincest. he compares Destiel to Wincest. "But it’s the same, it, I mean, you know, it is fanfiction, right? The wincest, there’s a name for it.". he could’ve just said fanfiction if that was what he meant. why unnecessarily bring up a fanon (and disgusting) incestuous ship as a comparison for a half-canon queer ship.
he then confirms a few minutes later [after Misha’s long ass talk about whatever] that Dean would never reciprocate Castiel’s feelings, starts saying that for it to be canon/Destiel, you need reciprocation, and Dean didn’t reciprocate Castiel’s feelings, he just accepted them. (whatever the fuck that means)
and don’t even fucking get me started on the fact that he then explained it as, and i quote, " I thought I played that moment as like more familial situation, like, you know, somebody was coming out to their parents, or their family. And it’s like, it’s like you come out, in my head, it was like, come out to your father. All you want is for him to be like accepting of that. You don’t want him to then go, you know what, I am too, you know what I mean? " that’s a literal fucking quote from him at that panel.
MISHA FUCKING COLLINS STARTED AGREEING WITH THAT SPECIFIC ANALOGY.

and apparently the destiel confession scene wasn’t the result of a planned out 11 season long slowburn???
i don’t even wanna begin about whateverthefuck Misha 'i take upskirt pictures of girls' Collins was talking about. apparently he thinks that for the whole confession scene, reciprocation wasn’t the point, wasn’t important. to him, the point was that "Cas got to express his truth".
AKA… Castiel, a repressed gay angel who fell in love with a human man, fucking DYING immediately after confessing his love to said human man. never even getting that "acceptance" that he and Jensen talk so fondly of. that’s what he called "a fucking beautiful thing". an unreciprocated queer love confession, even more queer rep down the drain.

obviously people should NOT be hating and/or harassing Jensen Ackles for not shipping a certain ship, he can have his own opinions about Destiel, people should respect that. (..maybe he should’ve worded it a little differently during the panel though..) BUT… someone please inform him that Dean mourning Castiel like a heartbroken widow isn’t exactly platonic or 'brotherly'.
