You know, when I get recommended a video about a fire and saving family from burning house, the types of comments I expect are about heroic actions, sympathy to family and so on. Not criticism of victim "being too fat to fit through the window".

For the context, there was a woman that said she couldn't get out and was helped. It was a first floor so she didn't need to jump and it was about knee level. And because of that YouTube comments are just full of "this is wake up call", "no survival instincts!" etc

Honestly, this makes me so angry. While it was hard for her rescuer to get her out, is it really that unthinkable that someone can freeze during life or death situation? Do you know this person, what she has gone through? Do you need to fatshame someobe who could die? Isn't it nicer to be glad that everyone got out safely without judging human reaction?

As someone that has grown up surrounded by beaches and done surf life saving, I know how the sea works. Lots of people dont. Every summer multiple tourists die here because they don’t respect the sea, if you’re going to the coast, here’s a thing I saw on Facebook.

Listen to lifeguards, swim and surf between the correct flags, respect the sea

As a person who grew up in Hawaii (since I was 4 years old), PLEASE BE CAREFUL THIS SUMMER! RIP TIDES/CURRENTS KILL! If you plan on swimming in the ocean or any very large body of water, search for the signs before getting in.
