Feat. A rough sketch of my headcanon of Mona Lisa from TOTTMNT

AAAAHHHH!!! MY FIRST ASK 🥹💕

Yes!!! Mona's parents (Ishaam and Avani Khan) immigrated from India with her older brother,Jai, when they were young parents with their newborn son :)

When they came to the US, Ishaam became a head researcher at TCRI and Avani started getting involved with politics and became a prevalent voice for advocacy in the community

Mona was born in NYC after living in the US for about 5 years (so Jai was 6 years old when Mona was born)

Jai is also incredibly smart, he's enrolled at Harvard Medicial School while Mona's in high school

(She puts a lot of pressure on herself to overperform in school because of her family's success)

I know this is waaaaaay more info than you asked for, I have a lot of free time and no friends :)

Here's some post-mutation Mona angst!

I wanted to explore how Mona's mutation could be a significant source of trauma for her. I pictured Mona as a super smart and bright girl that had such a promising future; but when she gets mutated, all of her dreams and her identity feels like it was ripped away from her.

Raph and Mona find a way to be open with each other (which is very hard for both of them) and find a way to trust that they can depend on one another

Mona Lisa!!

To mourn the loss of Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, here's a sketch of my take on Mona Lisa (or Mona Khan)!!

Here are some fun facts about this lovely lady:

Her parents are immigrants from India

She attends a rival preparatory academy, where she's the Student Body President (and is one of the top performing students in her class)

When she's first introduced, her (*cough* then *cough*) boyfriend, Chaz, is the captain of the wrestling team at her school. Raph and Chaz are very much enemies

Raph and Mona have a rivals to friends to lovers trope (Mona thinks Raph is a meat head; Raph thinks Mona acts like a princess)

Mona is an intern at TCRI, but begins to suspect something fishy is going on. Her and Raph (reluctantly) join forces to stop TCRI and their evil shenanigans

Some not so fun facts about Mona:

Mona eventually gets caught working as a spy for the Turtles at TCRI, which leads to her getting mutated.

Raph has an arch where he endlessly fights to be reunited with Mona again and Mona has to overcome her trauma she faced during her mutation

They have a very emotional reunion, where they will confess their feelings for each other, but they decide to wait to be a couple until Mona gets some much needed therapy

I do want to say that I am still workshopping her!!! So please let me know if you have any ideas for her/changes you have in mind! Also, I'm still learning procreate so be kind lol

Some basic info

Age: 16

Height: 5'4"

Background:

After the passing of her late father, Dr. Vincent Quinn, she moves from New Hampshire to New York. She finds herself in a new state, with the weight of her father's fortune and reputation on her shoulders. In New York, she goes to Winston STEM School in hopes to follow her father as a pioneer in science, specifically in molecular biology. She now lives with her uncle and co-owner of Quinn Headquarters, Dr. Michael Filch.

While Mona portrays herself as very negative person, she is very naively optimistic. She's very smart, a quick problem solver and works well in stressful situations.

While she isn't a very talented fighter (she honestly sucks at fighting), she is still pretty stubborn and tries her best. She also has a pretty good grasp on medical and first aid work due to her years working in a lab (she's no expert, but she's alright at it). HOWEVER, Mona is a very sneaky individual due to her father's super strict lifestyle and his paranoid antics (ie putting cameras all over their home due to his extreme paranoia), so hiding in the shadows n snooping around isn't anything new to her.

She doesn't handle failing well and gets angered very quickly when people question her intelligence.

I also want her to have some sort of romantic relationship with Raph but I'm also workshopping that too 😅
