The Round has nearly come to a close, and you sit up in your chair realising how time has rocketed passed you. Eyebrows crease as you look at your semi-completed comics, and you feel the air in your lungs seep out with defeat.

"That's it, I'm done for," you sigh.

"WRONNNG!"

That's right folks, all hope is not lost. Here is my little guide to support those of you who are feeling down in the dumps about not completing your round.

Look at what you've done so far and pat yourself on the back; even if it's just an idea. You've made that possible. Without you, there'd have been nothing there at all. Well done!

This is how I'd approach a comic if I was running low on time. Normally I like to complete comics page-by-page, but sometimes I've not had that luxury.

Crop out what you don't need. Do you really need that extra attack? Can you drop complicated, time consuming panels? Do you really need those loving gazes across the battlefield? Drop them like it's hot.

Sketch. Sketch everything. Sketch it quickly or clean enough to be understood to a new reader. The choice is yours based on your sketching/lining speed.

Add dialogue/speech bubbles/any attack effects that are 100% necessary (I rarely sketch in attacks; but that's just me).

Take a breather.

So you know that awesome thing you have at the end where your trainer dances round the fallen enemy? Drop it for now. You can always make it an epilogue. Get the main beef of the round down, get the minimum necessary to pass on meeting the round criteria and roll from there.

That said; in all seriousness. We understand school, work and OCTs are all very difficult to balance. If you drop out, that's okay. We understand! OCTs are for fun! We do hope if you do drop, that you stick around for some awesome NPC tasks and to support the competitors!
