what type of dancing is violent dancing? Like Ik it’s probably more of a joke thing for scarecrow but still
in an earlier post I mentioned Capoeira but I doubt that’s what the writer was referring to, mean other dances I do know are pretty well, well known but still like is crane pulling some “sugar plum fairy” type shit on Batman?
mean I have another dance fight character and I pulled from ballet, waltzes, flamenco, burlesque, kabuki theatre, and a lot of other stuff
might reuse the same fighting style for crane idk, for the character it was about quick kicks, fast footwork, and keeping control of the fight such as physically spinning the enemy around
and some other inspos like kick boxing, in the original I think it was crane kung fu but I doubt crane would learn kung fu
Is the Crane style/Deadly dancing stupid? A YouTuber I knew called it dumb and unfitting for the character. Personally I think Crane would learn how to fight (though not too much) to endure Batman's attacks/bullies.
I mean, no offense but that doesn't sound like a fun youtuber and more of a DC dudebro. Violence Dancing is fun and silly--just like how comics used to be fun and silly, and it's is derived from the dancing skills of Ichabod Crane. The idea of Jonathan morphing it into his own thing by researching chinese crane style, is really unqiue and cool imo. Now a days Scarecrow doesn't do much physical fighting but back in the 90s he was a formidable foe. An unwelcome change personally.
I think it's a great concept for his character!

Hidden Talent
One of Jonathan Crane’s hidden talents is dancing.
I mean, yes violent dancing is a canonical thing, but hear me out.
Classical dances like the waltz, tango, even ballet and folk dance. He certainly has the body and strength to pull these off almsot effortlessly. I think he’d find a lot of joy in it, the movement and the music associated with dance. He’d use it like a form of exercise or fun.
I’m sure he’d take up dancing in from of people if he wasn’t so shy and stubborn , perhaps he dances with a lifelong partner or friend like Harley or Edward. And boy would you love to hear his feet click on the floor. it’s amazing.
