Rori’s Thoughts On Various Things

My names Rori! This is just gonna be a collection of whatever. Probably nothin bout me or my life.

Guilty Gear, One Piece, Pokemon, Mass Effect, Gravity Falls, Harry Potter (as much as I detest both Rowling and all her work post book 7), Xenoblade Chronicle’s, and Hyper Light Drifter are the fandoms I tend to be passionate about in no particular order, expect the majority to be reblogging and contributing thoughts/rants on those. Probably gonna reblog a bunch of art too.

Here’s the deal. There’s a lot of absolutely wonderful fanart of the repented Sir Pentious I’ve run into, and many feature the egg boys being redeemed in heaven too which is wonderful.

Most of this fanart has the eggs hatched!

Slight problem. Snakes also lay eggs. Sir Pentious is a snake.

Which do you think he’d be more likely to have eggs of? And treat them fondly as fondly as his own children?

Hmm? Yes? Quite.

The problem. Tumblr is convinced that I’m utterly obsessed with this show called “The Owl House”. I’d frankly never even heard of it prior to tumblr thinking it was my favorite thing in the world, no offense to the fandom, I just don’t watch TV these days. My best guess as to what sent my algorithm that direction is it’s overlap with the Gravity Falls fandom, it’s possible some people I followed are fans of TOH, but none of the posts are from people I follow and none seem to have tags I follow either. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure it’s great and the fan base seems nice enough (hence why I’m tagging them in this ask!) but it doesn’t seem to be for me.

Anyway, the point. Posts about the show started showing up over a month ago, but over the past 2 weeks it’s starting to get to the point it’s making me not log onto tumblr. I actually counted today, and out of the first 30 posts on “for you”, 12 were about this show! That’s a full 40 percent! When it first started showing up I ignored it but once it was a noticeable chunk of my feed I started clicking the “this content isn’t for me” box on every post, every day, and it’s only continued to grow. I know the usual advice on tumblr is “just accept you’re part of the fandom now and go watch it” but I really don’t have time for a new obsession right now.

This post is honestly equally as much rant as tech support, tumblr’s gotten the point when I said I wasn’t interested in some things related to tags I actually follow (apparently liking Harry Potter meant I need tons of fanfiction excerpts about Sirius and Remus secretly being gay lovers in canon, which like, good for them but I don’t care lmao) so I’m really not sure why it’s being so stubborn on something I don’t follow. I’m already 10 years late getting here and I’d hate to be driven away from my feed drowning in something I don’t care about.

Since I know someone inevitably is gonna force it on me, you have my consent to try to sell me on the show in the comments despite what I said above. But like, even if I was an enormous fan this’d still be a bit much. Even if it’s not possible to fully mute it, any info on how to reach the algorithm to chill a bit would be appreciated. Please help :(
