[ENG] My Return: New Yura Hatsuki Translations – Now Bilingual (FR/EN) and New Format

A few years ago, I ran a blog called "Musical Tales of Yura Hatsuki", dedicated to unofficial English translations of songs by 葉月ゆら (Yura Hatsuki). Unfortunately, I had to stop and close the site because my living conditions no longer allowed me to continue the work. Today, thanks to a more favorable situation, I've decided to resume translating Yura's songs. Here are some details about this comeback:

Since I'm not a native English speaker (I'm French), the English in my early translations was sometimes very poor or imperfect. My skills improved over time, and the later posts were already of much better quality. I prefer to leave the blog in archive rather than restore it, due to those initial poor translations. But today, I feel capable of providing English translations that are always as solid and faithful as my last ones on the blog, no matter the complexity of Yura's Japanese lyrics. In parallel, I've created a Tumblr that will serve as an archive for all my future translations: https://www.tumblr.com/blog/rorendor.
In the future, if I manage to maintain a good pace of translations, I might consider recreating a dedicated site to host all the new ones. For now, I prefer to stick with Tumblr, which will act as a transitional platform to mark my return and centralize the posts.
2. Translations in French and English
From now on, I'll systematically offer each song in two versions: a French translation (my native language, so done first) and an English translation. The English won't be a simple rephrasing of the French, but an independent translation adapted to the language's unique features. A final adjustment will be made between the two versions to harmonize them as much as possible while preserving their respective specificities.
3. Protection Against Translation Theft
My translations (both French and English) will always include specific codes designed to prevent perfect copy-pastes or full retranslations without credit. This choice stems from past experiences where some of my best translations were reused without mentioning my work.
Rest assured: these codes don't affect readability. On the contrary, they often enrich understanding by getting as close as possible to the original Japanese meaning (for example, [sense A / sense B] for a word with double meanings). Explanatory notes will be added when necessary. The benefit is twofold: it improves the translation quality for you, and it makes automatic reuse by an AI or third party difficult. Other codes may be used depending on the songs, but the idea remains the same.
In summary: you're free to use or retranslate my work, but not 100% identically and without credit.
4. Sharing Format
For me, the only tool that allows for a layout truly faithful to the effects I want to convey is Microsoft Word. Online platforms often limit these possibilities, and I refuse to waste time working around those technical constraints.
I'll therefore continue working exclusively in Word, and the translations will be shared via MediaFire links (or another host if needed). My Tumblr will centralize all these links for easy access.
5. Pace and Selection of Translations
The question is: "Will I, like before, translate every new CD from Yura in full?" Unfortunately, the answer is no. The work is very time-consuming, and I can't commit to translating everything systematically.
That said, I'd like to offer at least two translations per new album, depending on my interest, motivation, and the complexity of the lyrics. If a song seems particularly suited for a high-quality translation, I'll prioritize it. Finally, when Yura releases crossfade videos with lyrics, I'll try to provide a quick interpretation page (first impressions in Japanese), but without any guarantee of regularity.

[FR] Mon retour : Nouvelles traductions de Yura Hatsuki – Désormais bilingues (FR/EN) et nouveau format

Il y a quelques années, j'ai tenu un blog intitulé "Musical Tales of Yura Hatsuki", dédié aux traductions non officielles en anglais de chansons de 葉月ゆら (Yura Hatsuki). J'ai malheureusement dû arrêter et fermer le site, car mes conditions de vie ne me permettaient plus de continuer ce travail. Aujourd'hui, grâce à une situation plus favorable, j'ai décidé de reprendre les traductions de Yura. Voici quelques précisions sur cette reprise :

Comme je ne suis pas anglophone native (je suis française), l'anglais de mes premières traductions était parfois très mauvais ou imparfait. Mon niveau a progressé au fil du temps, et les dernières publications étaient déjà de bien meilleure qualité. Je préfère laisser le blog en archive plutôt que de le restaurer, à cause de ces premières mauvaises traductions. Mais aujourd'hui, je me sens capable de proposer des traductions en anglais toujours aussi solides et fidèles que les dernières que j’avais faites sur mon blog, quel que soit le niveau de complexité des paroles japonaises de Yura. À l'avenir, si je parviens à maintenir un bon rythme de traductions, je pourrais envisager de recréer un site dédié pour accueillir toutes les nouvelles traductions. Pour l'instant, je préfère rester sur Tumblr, qui servira de plateforme de transition pour marquer mon retour et centraliser les publications.
2. Traductions en français et en anglais
À partir de maintenant, je proposerai systématiquement chaque chanson en deux versions : une traduction en français (ma langue maternelle, donc réalisée en premier) et une traduction en anglais. L'anglais ne sera pas une simple retranscription du français, mais une traduction indépendante adaptée aux particularités de la langue. Un dernier ajustement sera effectué entre les deux versions pour les harmoniser au maximum tout en conservant leurs spécificités respectives.
3. Protection contre le vol de traductions
Mes traductions (françaises comme anglaises) incluront toujours des codes spécifiques destinés à empêcher les copier-coller parfaits ou les retraductions intégrales sans crédit. Ce choix découle d'expériences passées où certaines de mes meilleures traductions ont été reprises sans mention de mon travail.
Rassurez-vous : ces codes n'altèrent pas la lisibilité. Au contraire, ils enrichissent souvent la compréhension en se rapprochant au plus près du sens japonais original (par exemple [sens A / sens B] pour un mot à double signification). Des notes explicatives seront ajoutées quand nécessaire. L'avantage est double : cela améliore la qualité de la traduction pour vous, et cela rend difficile une reprise automatique par une IA ou un tiers. D'autres codes pourront être utilisés selon les chansons, mais l'idée reste la même.
En résumé : vous êtes libres d'utiliser ou de retraduire mes travaux, mais pas à 100 % de façon identique et sans crédit.
4. Format de partage
Pour moi, le seul outil qui permette une mise en page vraiment fidèle aux effets que je souhaite rendre est Microsoft Word. Les plateformes en ligne limitent souvent ces possibilités, et je refuse de passer du temps à contourner ces contraintes techniques.
Je continuerai donc à travailler exclusivement sur Word, et les traductions seront partagées via des liens MediaFire (ou un autre hébergeur si besoin). Mon Tumblr centralisera tous ces liens pour un accès facile.
5. Rythme et sélection des traductions
La question est : « vais-je, comme avant, traduire intégralement chaque nouveau CD de Yura ? » Malheureusement, la réponse est non. Le travail est très chronophage, et je ne peux pas m'engager à tout traduire systématiquement.
En revanche, j’aimerais proposer au minimum deux traductions par nouvel album, en fonction de mon intérêt, de ma motivation et de la complexité des paroles. Si une chanson me semble particulièrement propice à une traduction de haute qualité, je la prioriserai. Certains albums pourront être traduits en entier, d'autres partiellement, voire pas du tout — tout dépendra des lyrics et de mon emploi du temps. Enfin, quand Yura publiera des vidéos crossfades avec les paroles, je tenterai de proposer une page d'interprétation rapide (premières impressions en japonais), mais sans garantie de régularité.
