I hope youâre doing well. Weâve raised very little so far to support me and my family during these challenging times due to the conflict in Gaza. Weâre still working to reach our goal and would greatly appreciate your help. đ
If you canât donate, could you please share or reblog my pinned post? Your support in spreading the word would mean a lot to us. đȘ
does anyone know if i can like block sites from appearing in my google images searches??? i keep getting those awful ai generated things with a hand coming out of a man's neck and just straight up not what i was looking for, because this was in a search for "curly hair in medieval paintings". it happens every time i search for anything vaguely art-reference-like and it's so fucking annoying and it clutters my search results so much. i don't wanna add specific commands to the query every time too, what i need is like a browser extension or something

"While the Israeli state does much to ensure that Palestinian children emerge from the womb with as much difficulty as possible, as soon as they emerge, they are the seeds of the future. They are the hope, the rain amid an arid waste. Thus, when children are dispossessed of their childhood, when they are unchilded, the dispossession of the land is one and the same. Palestinian children come into a world where their firm foothold has already been stolen. Literally, they cannot be set down upon ground, upon land, that is their own to claim as home. The land on which a child takes their first steps and first learns to walk is literally shifting terrain open to daily and unlawful seizure; it is a slippery terrain even as they haltingly stand upon it; it has already been taken, or is under threat of being taken. The newborn unchilded child and the dispossessed land are one and the same."

I have hesitated and delayed for a long time to write these words and create an account on GoFundMe, but the need has become very urgent due to what I see of death approaching myself and my family.
To begin our story, it is important to introduce my family, who are the core of my existence and the source of my strength during these turbulent times:
We are a family of four suffering for over 9 months from a brutal war that spares neither humans nor stones.
Mother: The Heart of Our Home
My mother embodies generosity and kindness as a devoted homemaker, always prioritizing her family's well-being. Her unwavering love remains our sanctuary amidst the chaos.
Father: The Pillar of Strength
My father, Majed, a dedicated professor, faced the destruction of the university he served. Despite this, his commitment to education and society remains unshaken.
Brother: A Beacon of Healing
My brother, Mohammad, a compassionate doctor, confronts the challenges of healthcare amidst dwindling supplies and occupation brutality, showcasing remarkable dedication to healing.
Tamer: A Dream Deferred
As for myself, Tamer, I was on the verge of a new beginning, with aspirations to further my career in Germany. I had saved thousands of dollars for the mandatory block account to support my stay abroad. However, the conflict has not only shattered my professional dreams but also consumed what didn't burn of my savings, compelling me to fight for my family's survival amidst the escalating costs of basic human necessities.

I have lost the lives of my dearest friends, neighbors, and much of what I loved.
We have lost our home with all its dreams and memories. A five-floor house completely leveled to the ground!!

I lost my clinic, my only source of livelihood.

Since the beginning of the war, we were forced to flee our home in the north of the Gaza Strip to the supposed safe area in the south. But unfortunately, this was just the beginning. We have been displaced four times in the same southern area, fleeing from death always surrounding us.
Initially, we fled to a school belonging to the UNRWA in the Nuseirat camp until we were forced to move to another area, and the Maghazi camp was the intended destination. Then a UNRWA school, where we were residing in a tent inside, was targeted, killing 7 civilians. We were forced to flee again to a tent in Rafah, but the scarcity of clean water and the spread of epidemics and diseases forced us to flee again to a UNRWA school in the Deir Al-Balah area until now.
UNRWA has been providing refuge to hundreds of displaced families for the past six months at schools that have become vital community hubs, offering shelter to thousands of individuals trapped in the southern region.
Women and children sleep inside classrooms, and the men sleep outside in tents set up in the courtyard. Rainstorms recently have flooded our tents, and it's very difficult to take care of our basic needs.

I am currently volunteering at Al-Aqsa Hospital, assisting in the maxillofacial surgery department. However, a sense of helplessness and despair often overwhelms me. It's hard to put into words the horrors and injuries I witness daily. Surrounded by the shroud of death and the cries of the wounded, I feel powerless. "I want to save you, I want you to live," I often think, "I will do everything in my power to make it happen!" Sadly, many times, they become part of the countless casualties from my homeland. The shortages in food, water, and medical supplies are dire, to the extent that we sometimes perform surgeries without anesthesia. The suffering is unimaginable.

Now we hope to escape death, we hope for the end of the war, we hope to leave the Gaza Strip, and we hope to live a decent life away from bombing, occupation, and destruction.
It has been 9 months of hell and horror. This genocide has been too long to bear, and our mental health and lives are in constant danger. (I canât describe enough what I have been dealing with daily in the hospitals for the past days. We have reached a point where there is no hope left for us here in Gaza, where we are unfortunately just waiting for our turn to die, and even if there is a ceasefire, the destruction in Gaza is beyond prompt repair
Evacuation fees are expensive, especially now that I have no source of income. Once we can evacuate, your donations will cover our travel expenses and help us get immediate support in Egypt. There will be meal expenses, wardrobe expenses, emergency expenses, etc., but no generous contribution will go to waste.
To cross the âRafahâ Gaza-Egypt Borders, you need to have your name listed in the Crossing List (paid permit), and coordinators in Egypt who have the power to add my familyâs names to the list at the border are now asking for anywhere from $6-8,000 per PERSON! They will not add the names until we can prove we have the money ready.
I ask for your help because this is not just my battle alone, but a battle in which we seek your helping hand to survive and preserve our families. Any donation, big or small, will have a huge impact on the lives of my family and me. I am grateful to everyone who donates, and I will remain grateful forever for giving hope and opportunity to me and my family to survive and build a better future.
Thank you for reading my story. For sharing my story with your friends and family. I hope, there is a ceasefire, and we can get the rest and safety we deserve to build our lives all over again. â€ïž

When sorrow and difficulties strike hard, hope becomes the lone star in the dark sky. This is the story of Amira, a 23-year-old girl who found herself bearing the burden of her family after her father's death three years ago due to the coronavirus.
After my father's passing, I found myself taking care of my family, consisting of my mother, sister Noor, and brother Abdulrahman. My mother, suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes, faces health problems that further complicate their situation. But courage and determination drive Amira forward.
I worked as a teaching assistant at the university while pursuing a master's degree in data science, and also worked as a programmer in a company. My life was going smoothly until war came and destroyed everything.
My university, workplace, and home were completely destroyed, forcing them to flee south in search of a safe haven. Now, I and my family live in tents for displaced people in Deir al-Balah, where they suffer from water shortages and the spread of diseases, posing an additional challenge, especially for my immunocompromised mother.
This is a brief about our daily suffering.
Please help me, my mother, my sister and my brother to go out to treat my mother because she suffers from widespread diseases because her immunity is weak and help us to complete our educational journey, me and my brother

Alejandroâs P.O.V.
Alejandro walks through the backdoor of Rudyâs home, hearing the music and lively chatter of the Parra and Vargas family. He goes around and greets both families and friends until he ultimately sees you. Youâre talking to Rudyâs younger sister, Ximena, the two of you notoriously always joined at the hip. His heart begins to race once he sees you laugh. He pretends to listen to a conversation with Rudy, but his eyes keep moving back to you.
Dios, that smile⊠Heâs not supposed to think your smile is pretty or that your laugh perfectly scratches that itch in his brain. Your Ximenaâs best friend for god sakes, part of the Parra family at this point. Alejandro shouldnât be interested, you're younger than him, not prepared for the life he has. It doesnât matter that both the Parra and Vargas family know of the mutual attraction and try to push Alejandro to swoop you up before someone else does, he doesnât â he wonât ruin you. Â
That doesnât mean he can flip a switch on his emotions. He canât just tell himself to ignore the desire and your allure. Alejandro watches as you get up to dance with one of Rudyâs cousins, Javier or Jaime or whatever his name is. Jealousy burns his stomach while you laugh the moment youâre spun in a circle. He feels someone bump his shoulder and turns to see Ximena.
âYou should ask her to dance. I think sheâll say yes,â Ximena says as she points to you.Â
âDonât point,â Alejandro says as embarrassment colors his cheeks from being caught. âNo, Iâm not going to ask her to dance. I wasnâtâwasn't even looking at her.âÂ
She raises her eyebrow at his words. âHonestly, Alejandro, I donât know why you do this to yourself. You two obviously like each other. And like I told Rudy, Iâm okay if my best friend and older brother date.âÂ
Alejandro whips his head around,â Rudy is interested inââÂ
âNo, menso,â Ximena interrupts with a laugh,â youâre my other older brother.â [Dummy]
Alejandro remembers to breathe in that moment. He shouldâve known Ximena was talking about him. He and Rudy consider themselves brothers and of course Ximena would also consider Alejandro her brother as well. Her words bounce around in his head. A selfish part of him thinks you would fit well in his life.Â
You would be okay to wait for him while heâs on mission. You would busy yourself on his ranch by riding his horses or having picnics in his peach orchard. Maybe youâd visit his mom and calm her nerves while heâs away. You wouldnât be too scared when heâs gone on dangerous missions because youâd know heâd always find a way back to you.Â
He wonders if youâd enjoy a weekend camping up in the mountains or if youâd let him take you to the restaurant you love so much or if youâd enjoy walking around town where everyone could see you two together. Alejandro always stops wondering the moment he realizes other people would bear witness to the relationship. What would they think about him, a man roughened up by war and bloodshed, taking advantage of such a sweet girl like you? Â
Alejandro knows youâll say yes if he asks you to dance. Heâd be stupid if he didnât notice how you look at him and the way you touch his arm when heâs close. He doesnât allow himself to be alone with you, knowing heâll fall to his knees and beg for your affection. So instead Alejandro, as much as it pains him, hopes that youâll find someone. That youâll focus your pretty eyes on someone else. Then, God willing, Alejandro wonât be tempted by you anymore.Â
Ximena pokes his arm, gaining his attention once more. âWill you dance with me?âÂ
He nods and follows her to the dance floor as a new song begins. Youâre still dancing with Rudyâs cousin, whatever-his-name-is continuing to spin you around and make you laugh. A minute into the song, Ximena abruptly spins them both around and puts them right next to you.Â
âJavier, you need to teach me how to dance,â Ximena says as she lets go of Alejandro.Â
âUh,â Javier turns to look at you then back at his cousin,â sure yeah, next songââÂ
âNo, now!âÂ
Before Alejandro knows whatâs happening, heâs pushed towards you and Ximena whisks Javier away. You look at Alejandro and give him a confused smile.
âWe donât have toââ you begin to say.Â
âI guess we shouldââ Alejandro interrupts,â Oh. Si no quieres bailar conmigo, we donât have to.â Heâs not sure why he feels a pinch in his heart. [If you donât want to dance with me]Â
âNoâI mean, yes. Why donât we just dance?â you stumble over your words.Â
The music has now switched to a new song, something soft and romantic. Alejandro stares into your eyes and grasps one of your hands in his. His other hand is placed on your hip and you both begin to sway to the music. The rest of the guests fade away until it's just you too holding each other close. He falls victim to the pools of color in your eyes and the slope of your nose. He tries to stay strong and not glance at your soft lips, but eventually he does.Â
âI didnât realize you were such a great dancer, Coronel,â you whisper.Â
Alejandro lets out a small chuckle and grasps your hand a little tighter. The dress that youâre wearing is thin enough that he can feel the warmth of your skin on your back.
âMy mom taught me,â he whispers back. âShe said if I ever want a wife I need to know how to dance.âÂ
âSeñora Vargas is a smart lady, that's why I like herââÂ
âShe likes you too, nena,â Alejandro interrupts,â she likes you too.âÂ
Alejandro reluctantly lets your hand go. He walks away and turns as you and Rudy begin to dance, catching your eyes and giving you another smile.Â

Reader's P.O.V.
âÂżTodo bien?â Rudy asks with concern clouding his features. [Everything okay?]
âYeah, why wouldnât it beâoh⊠That,â you respond.Â
A few days prior, you and Ximena visited a bar in town. Las Almas is a small town, mostly everyone knows each other. When a couple of drinks were placed in front of you by the bartender, you both thought maybe a friend or family member had sent them. What you werenât expecting was a guy dripped in gold and silk to slide up next to you, a little too close for comfort. You tried to deny the drinks, already knowing where this was going.Â
From the clothes he wore and the way he talked, even before he told you what he did for a living, you already knew. When El Sin Nombre reigned supreme in Las Almas, guys like him existed in every corner. Guys who thought that one day they would run the Las Almas Cartel if they pushed enough merchandise or threatened enough people, all in expensive clothing.Â
You hadnât seen him before and he confirmed your suspicions when he told you he was from more down south. His name was LeĂłn and he was here to take advantage of the border that separated Las Almas and Texas. You and Ximena sat there in disbelief, thinking that maybe someone was pulling a prank on you.Â
LeĂłn spoke so casually about everything, like if it was no big deal selling hardcore drugs or amassing enough artillery for a small army. Your body ran cold at his words. Life had improved drastically at the exile of El Sin Nombre. Yet here was this random guy who was able to enter Las Almas so easily.Â
He didnât seem to notice or care as you and Ximena stared back in horror. LeĂłn, if that was even his real name or just a moniker, took a small baggie filled with white powder out of his pocket and squeezed your upper thigh.Â
âItâs supposed to⊠heighten, every cell in your body,â he said while running a hand up and down your cold skin.Â
Youâre not sure how Ximena managed to safely drag you out of the bar, a weak excuse thrown at LeĂłn. The two of you drove to the Vaquerosâ base where Rudy was stationed for the night. No way were you going to risk LeĂłn following you back to your house. Rudy took your wordsâ seriously and dispatched two soldiers to go check the bar if he was still there. They didnât find him, no surprise, but they did see him leave and arrive through the security cameras.Â
Ximena convinced you to stay the night at their house, just so you wouldnât be alone. Rudy decided to keep what happened quiet, wanting to gather as much evidence as he could before presenting the information to Alejandro. The trail has run cold, Rudy not being able to track which roads LeĂłn used to get into and leave Las Alamas. No new property had been bought recently and there were no new satellite images of any incoming trucks or planes passing through Las Almas.Â
You thought you had seen him while walking to work the following morning, someone with the same build and awful fashion sense standing across the street, but when you glanced back there was no one there.Â
âI thought I saw him the other day but⊠it might have just been my mind playing tricks on me.âÂ
Rudy nods at your words.âIf you see him again, please and I mean it please, call me or Alejandro immediately. Donât engage, we donât know anything about this guy.âÂ
âI will Rudy, I promise.âÂ
Rudy gives you a brotherly kiss on your forehead and leads you off the dancefloor once the song finishes. You spend the rest of the evening talking and eating while trying to dodge Javierâs advances. Heâs cute and polite, but he canât compare to Alejandro. Sooner rather than later youâll have to let the crush go, but thereâs a small part of your heart that still holds hope.Â
Alejandro managed to focus his sole attention on you while dancing and even now you keep finding him look at you before quickly glancing away once heâs been caught. The last thing you want to do is seem desperate, but you wish he would let go of his annoying principles for just one moment.Â
As the night goes on, neither family seems to be getting tired or having any plans to stop the party. You have a busy schedule in the morning and it's still somewhat of a drive back into town from Rudyâs ranch. You begin to say your goodbyes, and surprisingly Alejandro offers to walk you out.Â
âYouâre sure you donât want me to drive you, nena?âÂ
You smile at the nickname,âIâm sure, Alejandro. Thank you.â
He holds the car door open for you and waits in the driveway while you reverse out onto the road. You stay smiling throughout the entire 15 minute drive back to your house and even as when parking your car. Right as you step onto the porch, you notice the door to the house slightly open. Your brain begins to race with a million thoughts and it becomes difficult to breathe.Â
Even in the moonlight you can see the doorknob and lock have been knocked off for easy entry. Against your better judgment, you slowly tip toe up the porch and push open the door. There, on your entry table, is a large bouquet of red roses with a note sticking from the top. Cold sweat runs down your back and you stay frozen to the spot. Youâre scared to enter more into the house to find safety in your room but also scared to run the few steps back to the car.Â
The party and Rudyâs ranch seem so far away now. You take a deep breath and run back to your car while pressing the unlock button only once so it opens just the driverâs side. You donât know if someone is waiting to grab you outside or if theyâre waiting inside, but you donât want to risk it. Once in the safety of the car, you check the back seat quickly and speed out of the driveway. You press Rudyâs name on your phone and begin to explain in rushed words what just happened.Â
The drive to the Vaqueros' base seems long and each car that passes next or behind you seems like a threat. The moment you pull up to the entrance, the soldier on duty waves you in. You park in front of the building that holds Rudy and Alejandroâs office as another truck parks next to yours. Before you know it, Alejandro has yanked your trembling body out of the car and squeezes you to his chest.Â
âAre you okay, nena? Are you hurt? Did anything happen to you?â He says his words in a rush.Â
âIâmâIâm okay, no one was there I think. Whereâsâwhereâs Rudy? I thought he was meeting me here?âÂ
Alejandro sighs and presses a kiss to the crown of your head. âHe went to check your house with a few other soldiers. Theyâre going to review the security system and see if they can find who did it.âÂ
You close your eyes and nod to his words. Your body begins to calm down while Alejandro keeps you locked in his arms. His hand massages the back of your skull and your grip the front of his shirt to keep you balanced.Â
âYou shouldâve told me,â he whispers,â youâyou need to tell me stuff like this. Gracias a Dios que no te paso nada. Letâs get you inside, yeah?â [Thank God nothing happened to you]Â
Alejandro leads you into the building and directly to his office. He makes you lock the door, you guess more for comfort than for safety, as this is most likely the safest place in Las Almas. He leaves to get some pillows and blankets for you to rest a bit.Â
âOnly for a while until Rudy comes back. Then weâll take you with us.â Â
Youâre not sure if that means back to Rudyâs or to Alejandroâs ranch, but youâre too shaken up to ask more questions. You begin to think about the state of your home. There was someone in your home. Someone went in and did God knows what and left a bouquet of roses. To taunt you? To make you cower in fear? Youâre not even sure if they destroyed or took anything. You most likely know who did this but you donât want to believe it was him.Â
- - -Â
Alejandroâs P.O.V.
He hasnât stopped shaking with anger the moment Rudy got the terrified call from you. Alejandro ran to his truck and managed to arrive at base in only a few minutes. He did his best to control his anger at Rudy for not informing him about the incident at the bar. It was Rudyâs job to gather intel first then present information to Alejandro if it posed a threat. They werenât even sure if it was the same guy or just an isolated incident.Â
Once you explained, your voice trembling from adrenaline and fear, how you didnât stick around and jumped back into your car, he praised you for being such a smart girl. Heâs not letting you back into that house until they find who did this. Alejandro doesnât care if he has to drag you kicking and screaming to stay at his or Rudyâs ranch.Â
Alejandro returns to the office and wraps a blanket around your shoulders warm your cold skin. Once heâs sure you're comfortable, he leaves again to meet with Rudy downstairs, making sure you lock the door behind him.Â
âDid you find anything?â His voice is rough as he talks to Rudy.Â
Rudy holds up a plastic evidence bag with a white note and some words scribbled on it.Â
âIâll see if we can get prints on it to identify this âLeĂłnâ guy.âÂ
âYou think itâs him?â Alejandro asks.Â
âRead the note, Coronel.âÂ
You didnât give me a name the last time we talked. I found you anyway. I even know your favorite flowers. Red roses, right? Like the color of the lipstick you wore that night at the bar. Nos vemos pronto, muñeca. âLeĂłn [See you soon, doll]
Anger and something akin to fear rises in Alejandroâs body. No one gets to threaten you and make you fear your own home. No one gets to stalk you and make you feel unsafe in the town you grew up in. He made sure that Las Almas would be a safe place for you, for everyone. And heâs not going to let some wannabe narco cause you terror and destroy everything heâs built.Â
âWe need to get the security footage from her house and the surrounding houses. We need to confirm he only left a bouquet of roses and nothing else. I need someone to change the locks on her door andââÂ
âCoronel,â Rudy interrupts Alejandroâs anxious tirade,â Coronel, we are doing all of those things, no te preocupes. We need to focus on finding this guy and figuring out if heâs actually moving coke.â [Donât worry]
âRudy, thatâs your focus right now? What about herââÂ
âI know, Coronel. Thatâs my next point. He thinks sheâs alone, single. What ifâand hear me out before you yell at me againâwhat if she has someone?âÂ
Alejandro stares back at Rudy in confusion. âYes, I expect her to have un escolta the moment she leaves base and until we find LeĂłn.â [a guard]Â
âThatâs notâthatâs not what Iâm saying. What if we have one of the soldiers step in as her boyfriendââÂ
Rudy ignores Alejandro and keeps talking,â Maybe itâll scare him enough to leave her alone and then we can focus onââÂ
âRodolfo,â Alejandro says in a voice simmering with anger,â I will not allow one of the soldiers to dateââÂ
âPretend dateââ Rudy interrupts.Â
âMe vale verââ [I donât give a shiâ]
âOr you could do it. Who else than the Coronel to scare a narco away?âÂ
At that, he stays quiet. Rudy stares back, an obvious glint of victory in his eyes. Alejandro thinks about the situation. While he trusts each and everyone of his soldiers with his life, the idea of one of them dating you, even if it's pretend, makes his stomach churn. And as ridiculous as Rudyâs plan sounds, heâs right. Alejandro would have a much better chance at protecting you if LeĂłn and everyone in Las Alamas believes you two are dating.Â

Reader's P.O.V.
âWaitâIâm sorry. I donât understand how this is supposed to help me?âÂ
Youâre in Alejandroâs guest room with Rudy, Ximena, and Alejandro. Ximena looks at you and back at her brothers with the same confused look. Rudy and Alejandro, well mostly Rudy, just explained their plan to get LeĂłn away from you at least until they find out where his operations are happening. Alejandro hasnât said much but his eyes donât leave you.Â
âIf LeĂłn is interested in moving mercaâ through Las Almas, then heâs not going anywhere. Weâlll find him,â Rudyâs voice is serious, âbut weâre worried about you. Alejandro thinks itâs best if you two pretend to date.â [goods]Â
You want to laugh, you really do. In only a few hours you went from flirting with Alejandro to your house being broken into to now being his pretend girlfriend.Â
âThis sounds like one of those romance novels,â Ximena says.Â
Alejandro shakes his head. In a few strides he reaches then kneels in front of you. âThis isâthis is serious. We need to make this believable, nena.â He reaches up to cup your jaw and without thinking you place your hand over his.Â
