it's okay.
Copyright class actions could financially ruin AI industry, trade groups say.
AI industry groups are urging an appeals court to block what they say is the largest copyright class action ever certified. They’ve warned that a single lawsuit raised by three authors over Anthropic’s AI training now threatens to “financially ruin” the entire AI industry if up to 7 million claimants end up joining the litigation and forcing a settlement.
well…darn
like to charge reblog to cast financial ruin of the AI industry 🔮
originally posted August 8th, 2025.
Authors have until March 30th, 2026 (That is just 9 days as of this reblog, which I am posting on March 21st, 2026) to file their claim against Anthropic to be reimbursed up to $3,000 per work found in the list.
Updated February 18, 2026 IMPORTANT: The Claims Deadline Is March 30 Background Bartz v. Anthropic is one of the major copyright lawsuits b
Please click the above link for all of the exact details of how to file a claim and to check for your works, and share this post as far and wide as you can before March 30th, 2026!

at work they're showing us how to use AI tools like Copilot to help in our day to day tasks.
I have many reasons why I will not use those tools, going from lack of accuracy, lack of ethics, and a higher waste of energy.
But my main reason is this:
I will do things the hard way. I will learn how to do things the hard way.
Because AI is a subscription. And when the world is dependant on AI, they will raise the price of that subscription.
And when the company I work for decides that paying for AI is too expensive for their bottom line, they will remove it.
But I will still know how to work.
btw i want to say that the entire tumblr community banding together is what got these changes reversed so i hope u all realise the power of a reblog and start reblogging posts instead of just liking them this is the reblog website so hit that button right now
🇺🇸CPSC warning: best buy refusing to recall exploding pressure cooker; severe injuries reported, multiple lawsuits ongoing🇺🇸
this whole situation is disgusting. even for a pressure cooker recall.
these pressure cookers are the gourmia GPC625 pressure cookers imported by steelstone group llc (doing business as gourmia), which were primarily sold by best buy (and other online sellers) from $50 to $80 USD between 2017 and 2020. around 43,500 units were sold in total, making this not an enormous recall, but. Wow I (rune) want to talk about this one.
THIS IS NOT A RECALL. STEELSTONE GROUP LLC (DOING BUSINESS AS GOURMIA) AND BEST BUY REFUSED TO COOPERATE
https://www.cpsc.gov/Warnings/2026/CPSC-Warns-Consumers-to-Immediately-Stop-Using-Gourmia-Pressure-Cookers-Due-to-Serious-Burn-Hazard-Multiple-Burn-Injuries-Reported-Majority-Sold-at-Best-Buy
Name of Product: Gourmia Pressure Cookers Hazard: The pressure cookers pose a risk of serious injury due to burn hazards. Consumer Action: CPSC urges consumers to stop using the pressure cookers immediately and dispose of them. Do not sell or give away these hazardous pressure cookers. Product Safety Warning Date: February 24, 2026 Units: About 43,500
DO NOT SELL OR GIVE AWAY THESE HAZARDOUS PRESSURE COOKERS. I (rune!) will do you one better: break it. these can kill someone.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers to immediately stop using Gourmia Pressure Cookers because they pose a risk of serious injury due to burn hazards. The lid on the pressure cooker can open while it is still pressurized, causing hot contents to spray out, resulting in severe second degree burn injuries to consumers. Most of these pressure cookers were sold at Best Buy.
In addition, the pressure cooker’s float valve, which is designed to raise when there is pressure in the product, and drop when there is no pressure, is located inside the handle, and is difficult to see. Consumers may not see that the float valve is still raised and may reasonably think it is safe to open the lid when the pressure cooker is under pressure.
The pressure cooker also has incorrect volume markings on the inner pot. This can cause consumers to overfill the pot and hot food and liquids to be ejected when the pressure cooker is vented using the quick release method or opened while its contents are pressurized.
The importer, the Steelstone Group, LLC doing business as Gourmia, of Brooklyn, N.Y., and the retailer, Best Buy Co., Inc. of Richfield, MN, which sold most of the products, have refused to agree to an acceptable recall to address this hazard.
the issues are: the lid comes undone while pressurized leading to the hot contents exploding out, the pressurization indicator is extremely hard to see which leads people to open it while pressurized and the hot contents exploding out, and the markings in the pot are dangerously wrong. trying to follow the inner pot markings can make stuff explode even when using the pressure cooker exactly by the book.
malfunctioning pressure cookers are some of the most dangerous things to have in a kitchen. these are not just user error, these are inherent design flaws.
The pressure cookers are digital pressure cookers, with a cooking chamber capacity of six quarts, stainless steel and black plastic finishes, a pressure lid, a digital temperature and function display, and button controls. The model number is GPC625.
These products were manufactured in China.
CPSC urges consumers to stop using the pressure cookers immediately and dispose of them. Do not sell or give away these hazardous pressure cookers.
Report any incidents involving injury or product defect to CPSC at www.SaferProducts.gov.
6 quart model GPC625. please help protect others. please report unsafe products.
Incidents/Injuries: CPSC has received five reports of incidents in which hot contents were expelled under pressure; in four cases, severe burn injuries were reported. There have been at least two lawsuits filed by consumers alleging burn injuries.
as a tumblr recall guy, I (rune!!!) have heard a lot of stories from folks involved in law, medicine, food, and victims themselves about dangerous pressure cookers.
pressure cooker burns are fucking horrific.
Sold At: The pressure cookers were sold between 2017 and 2020 at Best Buy, other retailers, and e-commerce platforms for between $50 and $80.
Importer(s): The Steelstone Group, LLC doing business as Gourmia, of Brooklyn, N.Y
Retailer: Best Buy Co., Inc. of Richfield, MN
both steelstone group llc (dba gourmia) and best buy are companies are in the united states. is there really nothing else that can be done here after they refused to issue a recall? is the united states CPSC not more powerful than best buy?
Under section 6(b) of the Consumer Product Safety Act, the CPSC is required to include with this press release any comments from the manufacturer or a summary thereof. The company objects to this press release.
not only did steelstone group llc/gourmia refuse to issue a recall, they (and potentially also best buy) apparently objected to this safety warning being issued at all. these have not been sold since 2020 what is your PROBLEM
the importer objected to and potentially tried to obstruct the product safety warning about something they stopped selling over half a decade ago, them and best buy refused to cooperate with the US government, and only a product safety warning was issued despite serious injuries and inherent product defects and lawsuits
and when companies refuse to issue recalls, the main way for consumers to know if their products are dangerous is to keep up with CPSC and saferproducts.gov, as opposed to an email or phone call or letter sent directly to customers about a recall of something they purchased.
if you live in the united states, bookmark these links:
CPSC.gov/recalls: united states consumer product safety commission recalls & product safety warnings
saferproducts.gov: report and read reports of unsafe and deadly products up to years before recalls and product safety warnings are issued...if ever. for example: frigidaire oven glass doors love to explode, during and outside of use. shitload of reports and injuries, zero recalls.
recalls.gov: old school style ugly aggregate of various official US government recall links. the RSS feeds are broken and outdated by several months, so just click through them and bookmark them manually.
what a shitshow all around. at least these pressure cookers are not still on the market. please warn anyone you know who might have one of these.
for more information about the gourmia GPC625 pressure cooker product safety warning, check out the CPSC announcement.
thanks for reading, stay safe and take care!

Tumblr March 2026 Blackouts
So we're all pissed at the new update as we should be and I've been seeing many people proposing blackouts, which is amazing! But all the dates are different and people might get confused at what's happening when, so I just want to organize every blackout (at least that I saw) in one place.
So far I saw six people with dates.
The earliest one, organized by @yourlocalfandomfriendo begins on March 18th and will last 48 hours.
This overlaps with a second proposed blackout by @veejiez for March 19th.
There is also one on the 20th proposed by @daysleftofsecondterm and another one on the same day from 6AM UTC to 6AM UTC on the 21st by @everythingwsnormalhere.
These three days are all very soon so not everyone may see them in time to participate, but if you are able to participate for any or all of these days, I highly encourage you do. Otherwise there are two more blackouts coming up:
The next one after these will be on March 24th as organized by @aroacesafeplaceforall who suggested doing 12 hours.
And the last one, which I personally have a lot of hope for as it's a major day for activity on Tumblr and a blackout then could be especially impactful: April 1st, as proposed by @darkwood-sleddog
There is also a discord set up by @yourlocalfandomfriendo and @aroacesafeplaceforall for anyone interested in joining in!
SO OVERALL, it may sound like a lot, but no one expects everyone to participate to every date here. But PLEASE try to participate in at least one or two of these, even if you feel it may not do much.
Typical strikes, the ones we hear about all the time, win by withholding their labour for consistent periods of time; that's the power people have at work because that's what's exploited.
For blackout strikes, we need to withhold our attention; the resource we own which is exploited through the selling of both advertisements and data.
My comparison of blackout strikes with regular strikes will be for a whole other post, but for the time being, just know that
withholding our attention is our digital bargaining weapon
Tumblr literally lost 63% of its monthly traffic from 2024 to 2025; they are not in a position to play around with those of us still here.
So PLEASE try participating. We cannot let every decent online space get enshittified with no care or consideration for the communities using those spaces.
And where labour strikers risk losing incomes and jobs, all blackout strikers risk is... gaining some of their attention back for a little bit.
Reblogs in a chain now get their own notes
The reblog chain is one of the things that makes Tumblr unlike anywhere else. All the notes on reblogs are attributed to the original post, no matter which branch people actually liked or reblogged. We want to keep encouraging conversations, and give contributors the recognition they deserve.
Soon, you'll be able to like, reblog, or reply to any part of a reblog chain, and that note will go to that reblog's author. Each reblog will have its own counts, instead of one aggregated number from every version of the post. And yes, you’ll be able to like multiple posts in one chain.
If a reblog doesn't add anything, the love flows up to the last person in the chain who did. Your post doesn't lose notes just because people spread it quietly.
Past notes will stay on the original post — we're only changing what happens from here on out. Retroactively re-attributing all of them would be... a lot.
This is just the beginning. More changes are coming as we keep building this out – stay tuned!
This is horrible I can't see the number of notes on my posts at all without adding up everything in the chain
Cursed cursed cursed evil evil evil
This is a terrible idea. Horrible.
EXTREMELY BAD HOLY FUCK.
This would kill the entire point of the reblog chain. Staff, please, don't do this. It will transform the reblog chain in just plain twitter quotes.
Seriously, this is a tumblr-killer feature. This breaks the most fundamental way tumblr is different from any other social network. This makes tumblr just another blueskytwitterthreads. Or worse: An unfederated mastodon clone.
Please, stop this. Please, don't roll this out.
Please, mutuals, post about this, comment and reblog the original post (while you still can without making it your own quote-post). I don't know if staff is looking or if the feedback would matter, but seriously, this is a terrible change that would kill tumblr as we know it. Please, don't roll it out.
look, I can endure any kind of UI changes that are supposed to help tumblr-rookies to understand how this works. They may be a nuisance, but that's ok, we have x-kit or we can get used to buttons being here or there.
But this. This changes the data architecture. This changes the SINGLE THING that makes tumblr the "... yes and" website. This KILLS THE COLLABORATIVE POSTING THAT MAKES THIS SITE DIFFERENT FROM ALL THE OTHER MEDIA PLATFORMS.
Please, don't do this. Please, don't ship this.
Tumblr has explicitly said in the past that they do not look at comments on their updates posts. You have to PUT IN A SUPPORT TICKET AND SELECT FEEDBACK FROM THE DROPDOWN

If you’re over 30 and write and/or read fan fiction, reblog!
why does this have 32k notes? it’s just a picture of a knife in a ranch bottle, is there some unspoken joke that 32 thousand people share? what is going on here, i dont get it. it’s just a fucking picture of a knife in a ranch bottle. is there some spiritual connection people have to this picture? is there some ominous and mystical reasoning that this has 32 thousand notes? do people reblog this because it makes them look like some indie blogger? or is there just something funny to this? someone please explain
no one tell him

I literally love all of you, but as a Tumblr veteran, Tumblr's main feature is the reblog feature. It is the beating heart of the dashboard and the foundation for a chronological timeline. The For You page here should not be your default setting.
You guys have got to start reblogging stuff you enjoy, especially, specifically gifs and fan art but also fics and fan theories or even hot takes if you're not afraid of a lil discourse. I'm tired of being the first or third reblog for a person's post and then seeing my blog's followers do nothing but hit like, while blogs sit there with no new posts in months or years!
Reblog more stuff please. Thank you, have a good day.
You're not even going to reblog this post are you
“But if you forget to reblog Madame Zeroni, you and your family will be cursed for always and eternity.”
not even risking that shit

I’m not climbing no mountain with a pig on my back, 🙅🏽🙅🏾🙅🏿 Negative.
Nope. I know better, have your reblog Madame Zeroni.
who the fuck is Madame Zeroni
Look at these stupid children who don’t know who Madame Zeroni is
Man lissen if you don’t know you better ask somebody AFTER you hit the reblog button
WHO TF DOESN’T KNOW WHO MADAME ZERONI IS ?? ????
Oops gotta reblog she don’t play games
Girl I don’t fuck with that shit. I gotta exam two hours-I rebuke thee!
I am terrified mind you
