the bad thing about having unhealthy habits due to mental illness, is when you DO do something healthy style you can't brag about about it because then people will then know you've been doing it yucky style all along. Like you can't brag you changed your sheets or brushed your teeth because then ppl will be like oh did you not brush your teeth regularly before? Thats yucky disgusting! So you just gotta keep it to yourself. And be proud alone, I suppose.

The all or nothing attitude pushed when it comes to addiction is so crazy like if you say “if you have one sip of beer you’ve broken your sobriety it’s no different than going on on a bender youre back to step one” what do you think theyre going to do after that one sip of beer. Or that one drunken night. What do you think comes next in a scenario where you’re set back to square one if you make one misstep. come on now

This is a punishment method people give to children for misbehavior and studies on it have proven children never learn or grow from this and instead just become scared of making mistakes and develop habits to avoid punishment and pain and avoid getting caught
