“My, my, how unfortunate for you both...”
The simple yet effective words were uttered from the king’s mouth as his lissome figure stripped out from behind the shadows that lingered near the staircase and onto the dingy dungeon floor, his voice resemblant to that of the steam growing off a bottle of fresh elixir, a brew so strong and mystifying, it was gauranteed to cause any heads to turn, his majesty’s lanky stature looking like a strong tree who’s roots had sprouted magically from the ground and come to life the closer he stalked.
“Why, your journey has only just begun and you’ve already failed yourselves...”
“A pity…your friend may never see the daylight again, all thanks to you, i’m afraid…”
“I wonder…would she do any good as a slave? Perhaps she’d make a better Goblin? There’s always the bog of stench...I presume it’d make a fitting home for the both of you…”
Striking forth his riding crop, he sat atop it, jackal orbs peering in the hooded figure’s direction. Did they really think that they could fool the Goblin King so easily?
His eyes rested steadily on the stranger, still waiting to be inquired.
Jareth wasn’t sure why, but this one interested him most of all, and he showed this by watching them intently for a moment.
What business did they have, assisting another through his enchanted Labyrinth?
“You.” He said fiercly, his eyes darting back in the figure’s direction. “Do you know nothing at all of the Labyrinth...or is it simply your mission to inconvenience me today?” His fingers snuck themselves over the cloth, possessing the agility of a spider’s legs, not noticing as the brunette locks fell to the other’s shoulders, hinting at their identity. “Do you have any idea where you are?” He spread his arms out, as if signifying them to look around, but only ended up showing off his blouse instead.
The latest addition to the law, otherwise known as the Rule of Sarah, had been passed not too long ago, prohibiting all from assisting anyone through the Labyrinth, and whether they were aware of it or not made no difference to Jareth, he could not risk being so generous.
Rising from his previous position, he yanked his hand away from culprit and turned his back, only to swing it back once more in their direction, whipping to face them as he swiftly ripped down their hood, a look of intensity flooding his features and disappearing just as quickly.
“So...my suspicions don’t fail me...”
His hand lowers, but doesn’t take long to wrap around her arm, taking her in his grasp.
“There’s no one quite as selfish as you out there, now is there Sarah?”
His voice is lowered now, sounding husky in her ear.
Interrupting his leisure and peace?
How dare she.
“I will be amused to hear what sort of explantion you have for me this time.”
