Since itâs been a while since Iâve updated this blog with any sort of regularity, I wanted to explain the situation and give a temporary goodbye of sorts.
Essentially, Iâve decided to temporarily abandon my Tumblr account for two reasons:
First, Iâm struggling with Internet addiction badly. Itâs not really a joke anymore; itâs a serious problem thatâs ruining my life. Iâm jobless and living with my parents because of it. So at a certain point, enough is enough: it doesnât matter if Iâm going to disappoint my followers, or get out-of-the-loop on whatâs going on in the Supernatural fandom, or whatever other excuse I could make. Just like how an alcoholic needs to never touch alcohol, I need to never touch the Internet -- at least for now. So obviously, no Tumblr for me.
The second, less serious reason is that Iâm not watching Supernatural anymore. Those of you who know me well might have noticed that for the past few seasons, Iâve had trouble enjoying the episodes. Well, itâs finally gotten to the point where I have no desire to watch the series anymore. Whatâs the point if all I want to do is criticize it? So thatâs that. Iâll still treasure the first five seasons in my heart, but as long as Iâm not watching Supernatural, thereâs really no content to update my Supernatural-centric blog with.
So with that said, Iâll be abandoning this blog for an indefinite amount of time. Thanks for your understanding.
And if I could end with just one thing, I would like to say this: please take Internet addiction seriously. If youâre struggling with Internet addiction, be serious about doing whatever it takes to be free from it, even if thatâs as drastic as selling your smartphone and your computer. If you know someone with Internet addiction, donât make light of it; take it as seriously as you would alcoholism or some other addictive disorder. Having Internet addiction, Iâve seen that itâs not often treated with the seriousness it deserves. Often, itâs like suffering in silence. And it shouldnât be.
