in the comic, Sister Imperator gave birth to the twins in her apartment instead of at a hospital because she didn't want their births to be legally registered. she was trying to hide the twins from the government because she was afraid they'd be taken by social services and given to abusive foster parents.

Papa Nihil wrote The Future Is A Foreign Land after Sister left him because his greatest fear was that he might not be with her if/when evil fascist governments take over, destroy the planet, and kill them. in the music video, Nihil hallucinates himself and Sister in a dystopian future, dying together in a nuclear blast. recently, when Papa V Perpetua has been performing the song, V changed the lyrics from "The dark fascist regime might be gone" to "The dark fascist regime will be gone".
Ghost has always been a political band irl, and even the characters in-universe are very concerned about politics too. these people fucking hate the government. always have, always will.
