the whole "limiting the team amount to at least 2-3 pokemon at the game's start and then adding more team slots the more gym leaders you beat" thing is genuinely such a genius idea for early-game balance that could make playing the games so much more challenging and fun while ALSO feeling quite ludonarratively resonant with their preestablished worldbuilding and such. and i have zero clue why no other pokemon fans have EVER come up with this beforehand

you can really tell when a guy character has become a tumblr popularboy because everything about him that can be wrung dry for overwrought angst is wrung dry for overwrought angst to the point of making him sound like a dog that's going to die at the end of a children's movie

the way the internet has eroded the barrier between creator and fanbase sucks beyond words and while most discussion of this puts the focus on the parasociality aspect i do think its equally if not more important to point out that most if not all creators would benefit greatly from logging the fuck off

if people read your work in a way you don't want them to or god forbid critique aspects of it that is not something you can stop nor should you try to sometimes people will discuss your work in a way that isn't 100% validating at all times and if you do not want that to happen you don't have to put it out into the world at all

learning glitch productions greenlight the cartoon pilots based on toy sales is actually mind altering. an awesome reagan future for indie animation

i can't wait for the team reveal in a few days cuz i'm hoping it's gonna be a really really shitty team theme so i can have an immediate excuse for not participating

another digital circus thing but did anyone else initially thought that after caine died the circusgoers would've taken his place as "omnipotent head AIs" after mastering their conjuration powers in order to revive the crumbling circus and maybe make their lives a little better. idk it could've been a really interesting ending, not sure how good it would've been but y'know

i feel like caine dying off permanently would've made such a great and tragic shakeup to the status quo of the circus but i don't really fuck with him being revived... somehow. stealing an idea from an artist i randomly found on twitter here, if he were to be "revived" it probably wouldn't be the same caine, just a tiny fragment that wasn't fully deleted within the recycling bin/cache that also resembles a little baby tooth (aw), and his name probably would be Enoch (after a son of the biblical figure Cain). a possibility set up by the ending is the idea that this little baby tooth would soon grow and evolve into a more well developed AI like caine, though it wouldn't be the same person as him, with the circusfolk basically being his sorta-parents...
