those aliens from that new illumination movie PISS ME OFF SO BAD LEGITIMATELY THE WORST MOST LAZIEST ALIEN DESIGNS EVER TO EXIST PERIOD. so immediately i started thinking of a better design in like five minutes that is way better and more imaginative than what an entire boardroom of directors and executives could ever come up with throughout a film's production

i’m not even a spec bio artist but just through spite alone i got this cute and interesting little alien out there. wanted to keep the tinyness and the spindly “rubberhose” limbs of the og aliens but go ham on the rest. the flower thing was random at first until i realized one of the romantic leads was an astro-BOTANIST and suddenly it became a happy accident that could fit really nicely with the movie. anyways

not only is designating icons to different teams really fun this also (as i just realized) might help out colorblind artists in quickly differentiating the teams they’re about to fight. also sweet i knew i was right in picking mystery, masks are cooler than balloons (though it looks like a viewmaster toy than a masquerade mask lmao)
