part one of my house headcanons: ravenclaws
the main stereotype of ravenclaw is that theyāre all smart, goody two shoes who love rules and school.
however, for me, ravenclaws are the kids who liked to read when they were young, were told they were āgiftedā and burned out in high school. aka, the undiagnosed adhd kids.
i see ravenclaws who canāt sit still, canāt focus in class, have a million assignments and do them all the night before.
ravenclaws who live off coffee and tea and stay up until the early morning doing the work they procrastinated
ravenclaws who are sick of the āsmart kid stereotypeā but are afraid to prove it wrong
ravenclaws being perceived as snobby because they only really hang out with their own house members, when itās just because no one else really understands
but also, ravenclaws loving to let loose when they can and hosting a huge new years party every year
all houses are invited and the teachers turn a blind eye
itās always the best party of the year, and the other houses are always shocked
i also see ravenclaws being the most open and accepting house
a lot of them are lgbtqia+ and everyone else is a vehement ally
they go to pride protests, blm protests, protests for the environment, are members of spew, are the kids who go around getting signatures for petitions like āsave the endangered black rhinocerosā and put up āclimate change is real you fucking idiotsā posters in the great hall
and ravenclaws doing group therapy sessions when it gets too much and all gathering in the common room or room of requirement and just letting all their feelings out
itās a safe space and no one judges, and nothing said leaves the room
because of this, the ravenclaws are all very close and protective of each other
best part about that is if someone hurts a fellow ravenclaw in any way, the entire house knows just how to kill them and get away with it easily
once a third year girl confessed to being assaulted by a seventh year boy in the therapy session and collectively every single person in the house made her assaulterās life a living hell
they also blackmailed the person for months and gathered more information on them before handing it all over to the ministry and posting the story in the daily prophet
needless to say, not many people messed with ravenclaws after that
