disney took one look at luke skywalker and said ‘i can make him worse’

i just don’t get what’s so hard about it to understand. fans don’t want disillusioned “i’m about to make the same mistakes as the jedi before me” luke skywalker. they want “when given an ultimatum between being a proper jedi and saving my friends, i chose my friends” luke. they want “love brought my father back to the light side in the final moments of his life” skywalker. they want the man who was so successful not because he followed “the code” but because he followed his heart. like disney i am begging stop destroying the integrity of one of the most beloved characters in the franchise everytime u put him on screen

I feel you, Luke fans. They are not doing right by Luke, it seems sadly. As a Han fan who is still pissed at his deadbeat dad/only good as a smuggler characterization they gave him in the sequels, I know how frustrating it is. I love both Luke and Han always and these terrible characterizations of them are just bad writing
