HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE
Let’s say it’s 6.15pm and you’re going home (alone of course), after an unusually hard day on the job. You’re really tired, upset and frustrated. Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to drag out into your arm and up into your jaw. You are only about five miles from the hospital nearest your home. Unfortunately you don’t know if you’ll be able to make it that far. You have been trained in CPR, but the guy that taught the course did not tell you how to perform it on yourself..!!
NOW HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE…
Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.
However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously.
A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest.
A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.
Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating.
The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can perhaps buy precious time to get themselves to a phone and dial 911.
Rather than sharing another joke please contribute by broadcasting this which can save a person’s life!

THIS IS FAKE NEWS!!! DON'T FOLLOW THIS "ADVICE"!!!!
Let's get into it.
Cardiologists are all in agreement that this myth isn’t sound medical advice. “Coughing definitely does not treat a heart attack,” says Kevin Shah, MD, cardiologist and program director of heart failure outreach at MemorialCare Heart & Vascular Institute at Long Beach Medical Center in Long Beach, California.
“A heart attack is caused by a sudden reduction or blockage of blood flow to the heart muscle, most often from a clot in a coronary artery,” explains Navjot Sobti, MD, an interventional cardiologist and women's heart health specialist at Northwell’s Northern Westchester Hospital and Katz Institute for Women’s Health. “Coughing does not restore blood flow, dissolve clots, or prevent heart muscle damage,” she explains.
James Udelson, MD, chief of cardiology at Tufts Medical Center, agrees. “This [hack] is a myth, and it is dangerous,” he says. Udelson points out that none of the theories surrounding this health hack have scientific backing, adding, “This is not endorsed by any professional society, such as the American Heart Association.” In fact, the American Heart Association actually put out an article in 2025 debunking the myth.
Both he and Sobti are concerned that this myth could actually prevent someone from seeking immediate help, which is crucial in these instances. “With a heart attack… the longer you wait to get treatment, the bigger the heart attack,” Udelson explains.
What to do if you’re having a heart attack
If you suspect or know that you’re having a heart attack, the experts say it’s crucial to call 911 immediately. Shah says that you shouldn’t even try to drive yourself to the hospital. “If the heart attack leads to cardiac arrest, you would be in greater danger.” (While the two terms are often used interchangeably, they are two different things. A heart attack is a blockage of blood flow to the heart, whereas cardiac arrest is when your heart stops beating and is much more serious.)
Call 911 even if you’re unsure of what’s going on, Udelson says. “Don't try to figure out if the chest pain is heartburn,” he explains. Sobti agrees. “This is especially critical for women, who may experience non-classic symptoms such as shortness of breath, nausea, jaw or back pain, fatigue, or lightheadedness—symptoms that are often minimized or misdiagnosed,” she says.
If you have aspirin at your place, Udelson says you can try taking one while waiting for help to arrive. After that, Sobti recommends you sit or lie down, try to stay calm, and avoid exerting yourself while you wait for emergency services.
While the coughing hack sounds like it could make sense in theory, doctors stress that this won’t do anything—and may even make things worse. “Coughing doesn’t stop a heart attack,” Sobti says. “Early activation of emergency care is the most effective, evidence-based way to save heart muscle—and lives.”

little discussed piece of transmasc history is that one of the previous oldest living pair of conjoined twins (who died in 2024) was a trans man! his name was George Schappell & he came out in 2007; unfortunately his family had him deadnamed and misgendered in their obituary, which is part of why he deserves to be talked about more.
he had a career as a country artist, traveled around the US performing, and won an award! his sister considered herself a big fan of his and enjoyed his concerts. he also had spina bifida & used a mobility aids pushed by his sister. PinkNews recently posted this short quoting George on his transition & shows a clip of them talking about respecting one another's autonomy and privacy.
here's some pics of him & his sister Lori:
they died at age 62, which is tragically young but far beyond the life expectancy they were given at birth of only one year. they shared 30% of their brains and were the first known example of a pair of conjoined twins with different genders.
There are a lot of people who start creative projects with no business or financial plan, because "who cares, it isn't important, we'll figure that out later". And you can't let yourself become that person. Not because I'm a sneering finance bro who thinks your woke animated youtube series wont make money, but because if you don't you'll wind up financially exploiting your friends for years
Look, it's none of my business if you wanna work yourself to the bone for no money so you can make your dream project a reality. I think you shouldn't, but also let's be real that's basically a rite of passage for young creatives. But as soon as you start involving other people? You need a plan. You need to be able to compensate them for their time, and you need to have it in writing
head in my hands, as someone who does extensive freelance TTRPG work - an industry in which the vast majority of those involved are doing it as a passion project/side hustle, and in which many people are friends with those they work for and with:
if you are doing any creative project with someone else in which money will be involved, make a contract. Doesn't need to be super formal. Get something laid out in writing that very clearly indicates what the person you are asking to do something is responsible for, the timeline in which they're expected to complete it, and the compensation they'll get for doing so.
"oh but we've been best friends since eighth grade" make a fucking contract.
"oh but this probably won't make much money anyway" make a fucking contract.
"oh but I don't know all that legalese" there are tons of pretty accessible templates available online if you research, just make sure it's one that suits your needs and you understand what's in it (it can be written in normal language without legalese, as long as it's clear), and make a fucking contract.
I've heard horror stories about this shit destroying projects, friendships, livelihoods, and in most cases the fallout could have been avoided (or at least mitigated) by having a clear legally binding document about everyone's responsibilities and compensation from the get-go. Do not assign someone work without a contract or some form of written agreement; do not work without a contract or some form of written agreement. please for the love of god.
maybe this is not my place to say because I am monolingual, and I'm sure it's part of a larger, more nuanced discussion about visibility and accessibility on the internet, but I think it'd be cool if people posted in their native languages more instead of in english. I see people do it way more on other platforms than on tumblr which is almost exclusively in english
(also u can barely talk in slang or abbreviations but u gotta know everything abt english's n all its nuances as they keep importing and approppriating nazi 4chan stuff and aave, and if u dont know ur part of the problem of normalizing racism n far right culture. now try talking in slang in ur own language, nobody knows how to translate it, not ur average google translate nor chatgpt can take it)
and so many others for all the help, full game is finally here!
Mirtilo is a very troubled girl. She left her home behind to search for her missing parents. That same morning, moments later, her cousin Garoa pays her beloved relatives a visit to find them missing almost without a trace! No one is around and there's some evil entity out there.Come along this whimsical, colorful adventure with the two cousins seeking answers at their own pace
features listed in more detail in the links above but overall, a bullet hell urban fantasy adventure with a magic system incorporated to the gameplay.
VizuL 1 is a game that resonates with mine and close friends' struggles, in hopes it reaches whoever it needs to 💙
here's the catch-all page for the project as a whole, enjoy the ost with bonus tracks and don't forget to support the two people i linked above, obrigada 🌺

Y'all wanna know a trick? A trick as to how you can better understand the mentality of someone who is antiblack (particularly white, but tbh it works on anyone who really buys into antiblackness), if not make them do an Ace Attorney Blow Up? 👀
I was being facetious with the trick part lol but you know the joke "I might be racist, but you're mean and that's worse?" It's the root of that. We discussed it back when we read White Fragility. You can see it in Trump, Elon Musk, and your average Tumblr racist:
They really, REALLY want to be liked. Not just liked, no that's not the right word, but validated.
Think about it this way. Racism is the status quo; the default, right? Part of maintaining that default is through normalization, and that includes the solidarity necessary to reinforce that (DiAngelo called it white solidarity).
So, if being covertly racist is the status quo, then that means you will be socially rewarded for being so. When you get rewarded, people are nice, friendly, relatable, they keke and haha right alongside you. But when you confront someone's racism, you're not socially rewarding them anymore- the spigot of validation has been paused! Instead of taking it as a valid critique, you are seen as socially punishing a person. You're being MEAN, because the validation I got from everyone else's also-racism was NICE!
That's why when you confront racism, you HAVE to stand firm on it. You cannot feed into the desire for the validation of their behavior. That's what makes a lot of people snap. The blowup is meant to stop you, to force you back into compliance! The only one being punished really is you for bringing it up.
And hell, if not socially validating a bigot is punishment... 😐 Why would that be... A bad thing? We're not hitting you with rocks, we're just saying we don't fuck with you and your behavior. (But that's also a part of really all of the books we've read in #cbc book club so far; that antiracism is seen as violence.)
Personally, I wanna live in the world where it's normal to boo racists, not coddle them. But that starts with being willing to push back against the normal we're in.
because i'm obnoxious i wanted to run some additional numbers on this to see just how much of an impact sans specifically had on this. the total amount of m/m in the undertale tag is 20,917 fics, with the amount of f/f sitting at the bottom with only 5,926 fics. if i sort the tag by fics tagged m/m, sans/sans comprises 43% of the fics, sans/papyrus comprises 14%, and sans/reader comprises 9%. those are the three most written-for ships in that tag. needless to say, that's already pretty bleak. but it gets bleaker.
if i sort the tag instead by f/f, what are the three most written-for ships? alphys/undyne, predictably, is at the top, comprising 51% of the tag. the second is, inexplicably, sans/reader, which weighs in at 23%. and last is toriel/asgore, making up 11% of the tag. (in case you're wondering, sans/sans makes up 7%.)
Pixie be AAC device user is not a young child . and . but all AAC device vocabularies exactly same as the for children . no words for relationships and more “adult “ conversations .
have not seen any AAC device vocabulary have words for any “private” body parts . can not tell caregivers about having a problem with some “ private “ body part . no pages for to talk about serious brain “trouble” either .
we people what use AAC devices are very most likely to be hurt by bad people because them people know we can not tell really what happened .
AAC device businesses need to do better. speech pathologists need to do better , and caregivers , and parents , and guardians . all need to do better .
Pixie HAVE grid from smart box . Is been Pixies primary AAC device for years . Pixies original speech therapist STILL had add genitals to body page AND had find switch , buried in settings , for make grid actually show not - censored symbols . ( And also same same with all not - straight identity words too , because of same same censorship . )
Them words and symbols being available to children and especially intellectual / cognitive disability people , too often make not - disabled people so very uncomfortable , and so get excluded from default vocabularies . THAT is what this post was about , automatic censoring of people what use symbol based AAC devices . Grid not exception to this .
These these absolutely critically needed words need be include in all AAC devices AND make visible *by default* . No needing to dig through settings to find the switch that make these symbols appear . No needing ask for help put in these words .
Pixie not demand perfection , just a end to automatic by default censoring of words from people what depend on symbol based AAC . No more excuses !!

You ever think about many peices of media have zero women and thats just perfectly normal but if a peice of media has an all female cast people get... like that? Women should be allowed to kill over this btw
