That man already has instincts to listen to aaron over his own inner demon and it's not even like aaron was saying something very special. Literally everyone was saying the same but he couldn't care less only when aaron says it, it means something to him.

I don't understand it either. The show is not the same as it was 7 years ago. PDAs and affection are only there when it is linked to the plot. So we got a Mackity kiss this week because their story is linked to their relationship. It's the same with Coira recently. And you are so right that it is the same across the board with regards to intimacy and romances. Vinny and Lewis got together in February and were hardly onscreen together until they suddenly popped up to say that they were now close to being in love with each other. The show seemed to have a lot of the relationship offscreen because it didn't serve any of the plots it was focusing on. Also, we seem to be told if a couple like/love each other instead of being shown. Gabby and Billy got together without any build-up, as did Belle and Kammy.

Dryan can always hit it out of the park when they are given the material but the material isn't about their relationship right now. And when the show doesn't focus on the relationship, PDAs don't happen for any couple. Maybe it is building up to something or maybe this is just how it is until we get the next big romantic moment. I know some people think it is jarring but it honestly isn't a Robron issue or a Dryan issue. Please stop blaming Dryan.

Like even look at coira. They have way more than anyone by miles and yet I’d say they’re one of the couples in the worst predicament right now. Once again next week Cain is avoiding her and Moira speaks to someone about her marriage problems, this is like the third time this year this will have happened. Like I wish Robron would have something sure, but at least I know that their stories this year and disagreements have been over wanting to protect each other and they’ll do anything to protect the other and they wanna spend time together (we’ve had lines from Aaron showing this in the past few eps)- the same can’t be said for coira currently.

I honestly feel Robron are very similar to Jimmy and Nicola, where they’re just a couple that exists and they intend to have them long term. Jimmy and Nicola haven’t had PDA for over a year, and they also have the snipy disagreements Robron have but it’s not detrimental to their relationship nor is it a relationship issue just external factors. I’m actually so sad we’re losing Jimmy and Nicola, but I do wonder if the show wants Robron to fill their void- long term couple who kinda run a business together (Aaron is spending more time doing farm work/making the decisions up there but he’s not fully in charge just like Jimmy isn’t).

Coira only have all the PDAs as their story is focusing on their relationship right now. Coira are in such a mess right now, but they are getting all the kisses and affection. Robron are stronger than this with no external force coming between them or putting their relationship at risk, and as you say, Anon, they want to protect each other and spend time together like any healthy couple might do. So that means we don't need the kisses or the affection despite us maybe being used to it in the past.

I can see Robron being long-term like Jimmy and Nicola were. Their relationship hasn't been a focus for a long time, so they haven't needed a kiss or anything like that. But we will get something soon because Robron are having Wedding 3.0 in the future.

Mutual ILYs came to mind. The most heartbreaking is the mouthed ILY when Robert is sentenced to 14 years in prison.

My favourite one might be during the heart-shaped hug before Aaron was sentenced to prison.

I love Aaron’s ILY during his wedding speech; him desperately begging Robert to get out of the submerged car; but also his impassioned and desperate first ILY. I also like his ILY and You love me during Proposal 3.0.

I love Robert’s ILY on the stairs of the pub backroom; and his ILY during the historic abuse reveal episode.

And he would and does and is! I know people haven’t been the happiest with this week but all of this has been about protecting Robert from someone he doesn’t trust, just like how during the fires he wanted to protect Robert and his wellbeing. Can’t wait for Monday when Ross accuses Robert and Aaron once again defends and protects Robert.
