Absolutely despise when I’m having a bad day for no reason at all and now I can’t function normally or do anything right. Like nothing happened I should be happy and fine but NO I must go about my daily life as if I didn’t want to claw out my insides right now. Who the fuck programmed this

Something no one talks about when it comes to living with bad anxiety/depression/trauma is the urge to become addicted to something. Not like, being addicted but almost wanting to be. I felt so so guilty for the longest time with this feeling because, logically, I know I don’t want to be an addict. I’m grateful my parents didn’t drink or smoke because if they had I definitely would’ve started in high school. But that feeling that you need something to lean on, seeing so many people have that something be substances, and wanting that too, that crutch, that one constant thing in your life, it can feel overwhelming sometimes. I thought I was weird until I talked about it with someone who was kind of in the same boat and they said they felt the same way. Just wishing we could drink our woes, smoke away the stress, take the magic pill and be okay, but knowing if we try, we’ll be fighting that for the rest of our lives.

I think after a certain amount of specialists and tests and still not figuring out a mysterious health issue, doctors should pay YOU to see them so they can try to figure it out, and they can add how many people like that they’ve helped and how quickly to a public registry where everyone can easily access that info. I think that would be very cool
