Hello, this is Toshiya. Thanks to all of our fans, DIR EN GREY has successfully reached our 25th anniversary.  From now on, I’d like to use this “utakata” to share how I’m doing and other personal aspects.

It’s the first time I’m doing  this kind of content myself, so I’m fumbling, but I hope you’ll stay with me for a long time.

And as for the main subject of the column… doesn’t this look like an essay?

I think so. But anyway, I feel like I have no idea what to talk about… 

Well, I’ve lived my life stubbornly without doing anything on my own. That being said, the 25th anniversary of the band has already passed and it’s time to face the remaining time? It’s something I think about more and more every year.

It may be taken as an excuse, but I feel embarrassed  because I said I wouldn’t do something like this, but I’m proud of being open to do it.

I think there will be various opinions and impressions, but I hope your can forgive me, Toshiya, for my selfishness~

To be honest, it’s a wishful thinking and I think this can give off a strong smell of cashgrab but, ‘utakata’ is made by me without reserve.

I’m a lazy person, so I may have fallen behind in everything, but I would be happy if I could meet with the people to spend some time with me in this place from now on.

So, if you are interested in the pre-opening, please do not hesitate to join us.

The days burst like bubbles and disappear. The casual everyday life is fleeting and precious and you will realize it once it’s passed. I’m thinking of writing about such foamy days.

I visited Matsuyama Castle for the first time in a while.

As expected, it is a wonderful castle.

I can only say what I've seen from twitter reports, as I live in Kansai and it was too difficult for me to attend..but here's what I've read.

The event was split into two parts: 演る虎/Yaru tora (the live performance), and 喋る虎/Shaberu tora (the talk event).

During the self introductions at the beginning of the event Kaoru introduced himself as GA-O-RUUU in a growling voice (mimicking the japanese sound for a tiger's roar?)

If you check TTT's Twitter and Instagram, you will find a video of Kaoru wrapping up the Yaru tora section of the event. He has become Leader of TTT as well as Leader of Dir en grey.

During the talk event, Kaoru explained that he took it upon himself to organise meeting up for rehearsal etc because none of the other members were doing anything.

The talk event also included a Q&A corner, where the members answered fans' questions. One memorable question seems to have been, 'If you had to date a member of TTT, who would you choose?' Kaoru took this quite seriously, asking if he were a man or a woman choosing. If he were a man, he said he would choose Tsuyoshi, and if he were a woman he would choose Duttch. Koji said he would choose Kaoru, thinking that Kaoru was blood type O. Kaoru is not O, he is type A.

They also ate takoyaki, playing a game where one portion only was filled with chilli. It seems as if whoever got the chilli managed to hide it well (Can anyone clarify this??), but I have seen a comment mentioning Kaoru's hamster cheeks while eating.

Prizes were issued by lottery, such as guitar pics, signed setlists etc. The members picked ticket numbers at random to win, and Kaoru by chance picked the number 216. (Kyo's bday). Members also shook hands with the prize winners, who were called forward.

During the talk, Kaoru also made a comment about having seen Boo getting changed in the dressing room..'I never thought the day would come where Id see Boo naked!' or words to that effect.

A birthday cake also appeared for some of the members with recent bdays (??)

At the end, they took a group photo, and Kaoru was apparently spotted poking or pinching Boo's belly.

The venue was filled to about half capacity, and drinks were available.

It sounds like it was a lot of fun.

先日、イヤーモニターを新調してきました。

こんな感じで最初にスポンジに糸を通した物を耳の奥に入れて蓋をして、注射器のような物から液体を入れて、耳の中の型を取ります。

反対側も同じようにして型を取ります。

最後に最初に入れたスポンジに付いた紐を引っ張りながら固まった液体？を取って終わりです。

完成したイヤモニは、多分名古屋公演くらいには出来上がるかと思うので楽しみです。

The other day I went to make my new in-ear monitors.

First of all, they put a sponge with a thread inside the ear canal, then they put in a liquid with a syringe-alike thing to take the ear impression.

Same process on the other side.

In the end, they just pull out the thread of the sponge they put in first to take out the solidified liquid? and we’re done!

I think these in-ear monitors will be ready for Nagoya show, and I can’t wait for them.

やはり、このウィンドブレーカーは良い感じに仕上がった…と自画自賛してしまいます。

さて、羽田2日目も楽しみましょう。
