coming back to this months later to add that my total adoration for this portrait inspired this addition to the latest chapter of my fic, as if the sea should part 🖼️
#this part of the chapter is set in 1812 and the idea of walton looking at who he used to be a decade ago#and being confronted with how he’s changed not only physically but as an explorer and as a man (a FATHER!)#just wouldn’t leave my mind#sorry i haven’t waltonfic yapped on here in a good while#mostly bc i accidentally took an almost 9 month hiatus. oops#but i’m so happy with how it’s progressing and that i’m getting back in the swing of posting WEEEE#anyway please read my ongoing 80k+ word character study fic about a relatively minor character from a classic novel#it’s good i promise#walton tag#lis.txt
