she was desperate to tell someone who would understand her. so far, it was only minsoo who knew, and no one else needed to know. but wonwoo would understand her situation, he knew her too well to just shake it off.

being unaware of his best friend’s living situation makes him feel ashamed. has he never visited elly’s place before? probably not, or maybe not after she moved in with hyuna. considering the fact that elly gave hyuna a car as a gift though, they must’ve been sharing the same space for a while now. noting the new fact, he makes sure to be more in touch with the lives of people he treasure most.

his own thoughts fly back in retrospect, wondering what would’ve happened if he and bohyung hadn’t convinced their parents to stay as they were. maybe he would’ve been crushed, more than he had ever been. shaking his head, he buries it down in the depths of his mind.

“Oh, I think I understand now.” Seolhyun did remember the taste of cheeseburgers but she admittedly didn’t have them enough times to remember what they tasted like on most days. She did know what they look like though, she couldn’t get away from that with all the advertisements and fast food places around, but if it wasn’t from a higher end restaurant with better quality food, she probably hadn’t tried it when she deemed it too greasy.

Although, now she’s not sure if her avoidance to greasy food started when she was a model, or if that was just the way she grew up. While people would snack on potato chips and soda, she would be munching on an apple and drinking either water or tea. There have been a lot of people she’s talked to who didn’t understand the entertainment industry or her ‘diet,’ getting comments such as ‘how can someone not like pizza?’ But like most things, if she wasn’t exposed to it, then she didn’t crave it.

“Yes, we can get a Korean meal tomorrow. All of it sounds good… I wouldn’t mind to go to each restaurant when we have the time to do it, but maybe we can spread the trips that we make outside, say to once a week?” Seolhyun gave him a friendly smile. “But now that we have that settled, why don’t you tell me about yourself, Wonwoo ssi?”

responding to an explanation is one way to paint someone’s impression. seeing by how indifferent the girl seems when it comes to junk food, wonwoo wonders if she’s never basked in the joy of monosodium glutamate and saturated fats. a few explanations come to mind as to how she’s not exposed enough to these concepts, and to list them down;

1. she’s a model, 2. she seems like she comes from the upper middle class economy (who dines in overpriced restaurants with healthy food the size of a thumb), and 3. she is serious about maintaining a great body (and health) and thus avoids anything that is greasy, sloppy, and provides a high chance of blood flow blockage

to clarify his theories, the male raises an eyebrow and cranes his neck a bit to get a better view of the female. looking her in the eye, he asks slowly. “how often do you eat fast food?” the dancer typically eats a good mcdonalds meal once or twice a week when he was in the states, but now that he’s back in seoul, he cuts it to once every two weeks. with the new contract added to the mix, he’s cutting it close to only once a month.

“once a week is great. we can also ask the others to come with us, i’m sure they’d be thrilled to have a small get-together every once in a while.” sharing food with his new friends is a great way to kickstart friendships. not counting minsoo and hyojin, there are a lot of other trainees that he has yet to get to know well and what other way if better than a warm dinner after a long, hard day? after all, food is infallible.

joshua doesn’t even know how he got contacted to attend this meet up; it could have been tiffany’s idea but nevertheless, he was very much enjoying the event. as much as he had to practice using his korean to be a potential trainee in their eyes, it was certainly a hard task to follow and he was getting quite sick of not speaking his own mother-tongue and now he had the chance to do so freely with other people who are just as fluent in english as he is.

the nineteen year old is making rounds of everybody, trying to chat and catch up with his friends, realizing only then at how many of them had this plan of action; to go and become an idol. he was quite surprised at some of them, expecting and not expecting all at the same time. some were surprised at his arrival as well, some were not; they chatted over it and their time being spent over in this new land, well, new for him at least.

he’s walking around, his goal in mind was to get some more food because goddamn, that was an assortment of tasty goodness that was laying on the table. spotting the desired table, joshua began his stride before he vaguely heard his name being called immediately before arms wrapped around him, as he got a good look towards said caller. shit, joshua was blanking out; ‘who was this guy?’, he thought to himself as he just blankly stared at the, albeit highly attractive, stranger. “uh, hi man”, he tried to play it off, pretending as if he didn’t forget who this guy was.

truth is, he’s glad he’s still able to meet his old friends despite being a trainee. a lot of people say that the trainee life is a hard one with scarce time to play around. that is not completely wrong, but there are certainly loopholes he can get around with. the gathering for one is an event he won’t be able to attend if not for chuseok falling on the same day. since his parents won’t be around until the evening anyways, he supposes that spending time with his friends won’t be bad.

smiling at the other male, he runs his hand through his hair. “when did you get here? you should’ve told me so i can bring you to this dance studio i frequent. we can even perform in the streets again, just like middle school you know?” joshua had been one of the many people he used to dance with. he remembered the other being more refined in contemporary and jazz, the two things he still hasn’t gotten around to mastering.

“A cheeseburger from Dominos? I haven’t heard of that before.” There was a lot of things Seolhyun’s hadn’t heard before when it came to fast food, simply because she tried to avoid greasy foods like pizza. They just didn’t settle well in her stomach, hence her aversion for them all together. Sometimes it was unavoidable with big groups, seeing as it was one of the easiest shared dishes around, but that’s when she would be picking at the chicken instead. “But I might know of the sushi place that you’re talking about. There are a few around here. There is one that has the belt that brings the sushi to you, and there’s another one where they give you your own tray.”

Either way, she agreed with his suggestion with a nod. “Yes, I’d like that. Staying too long in one place can be boring. I’d like to go out even for a little bit for lunch so I can get some fresh air.” If they were somehow running out of time for their lunch, there was always the street food to pick at.

“For what I like to eat, I like eating fresher foods like bibimbap or sandwiches. Once in a while, I like to be adventurous and eat meals that are a little more on the spicy side, but I usually try to avoid eating greasy food, simply because I want to watch my figure.” She smiled back at him. “So it seems like we have a lot of options. Do you have a preference of where to go?”

“well it’s not exactly a cheeseburger per se... more like the taste of a cheeseburger but on pizza form. it’s a bit confusing i know, but it’s really good. trust me.” his first time tasting the topping was actually an accident. his friend mistook wonwoo’s basic cheese pizza for his and ended up finishing the whole thing. angered, the kid naturally took his friend’s slice and bit off a large portion. what rich taste that followed was blurry in his mind as he was completely immersed in the experience. a burger minus the struggles of making the whole thing fit in his mouth; that was what really came off as amazing to him.

checking the time, he considers having some food delivered to the building, but he guesses that doesn’t correspond to the company’s policies. “we can go tomorrow? since we don’t have enough time to go out today.” shrugging, he looks at her as if he’s saying too bad. next time, he’d bring his own car to work so that traveling gets easier for him.

considering the fact that the girl is in fact a model, he doesn’t find it particularly odd that she watches what she eats so much. he remembers his mom being the same when he was younger. jeon yumi was still one of the most popular asian faces then, and her appearance needed to be maintained regularly. as he grew up, the image slowly faded from his mom, and she now works behind the scenes more often. “eating junk food once in a while wouldn’t be a huge sin. i do that sometimes when i feel like i’ve been very good at following my training regimen.” grinning, he hopes that the girl would have some load taken off her shoulder.

It wasn’t that Hyo-jin was rich and she wanted to show off, but she didn’t feel like she would need the car anymore. Her eyes were focused on the new Mission E, by Porsche. Because, hot damn, was the design orgasmic!

most of the time, his overprotective persona is meant as a joke. the rapper knows how to take care of herself and he has no doubts that she can beat the crap out of anyone who she finds irritating. at times, he even fears for his own safety when he tells her a bad joke. however, hearing the female giving away her car is a surprise though, and he has to make sure this lucky person is a true friend of elly’s and not a mere freeloader.
