it was only a matter of time before this happened

HEY HEY!! it’s leelee, back with a food fantasy oc this time, starring the refreshingly summery eton mess. if you can tolerate boys who are both charming yet kind of scatterbrained, and have absolutely no business wielding a cricket bat as a weapon (but does anyway), then this one might be for you.

It hit 8 am, and his daily reboot began- going through every setting in his system to check for failures or updates.

Audio system? Check- His ears picked up sound first, hearing the breeze of a nearby window, bird chirps and squirrel whines. Ah- that’s right, he must have shut down in the bed- for once. Either that or Connor carried him there…

Ah..Connor.. that’s right. They were living together now. God, what a blessing Connor was to the home. Macho and Ray love him almost, if not more, than Knox did. Knox…their love story was an interesting one, especially being two machines- who were said to not have emotions in the first place. 

Sensors online? Check- The scent of fresh air and…incense? a candle? He wasn’t sure- but it was a smell with a mixture of burning and cinnamon- it tickled his nose a little, being that the cinnamon was strong at the current moment. 

Next he began to feel his body, feeling the silk cloth of the sheets wrapping around him so delicately, not even really feeling a fold or wrinkle on him- as if someone had perfectly formed the blankets over top of him. ‘Heh- typical Connor~’

Joint movement? Check- He wiggled his fingers and began softly moving his toes, moving his joints little by little until he reached his neck, turning his head to the left and right. He felt normal, thankfully- he couldn’t really feel pain as a robot but he could feel if something was stuck or tight- which nothing was.

And finally- Vision sensors? Check- He opened his lids and focused his vision. He saw the soft satin sheets he could feel earlier, and now see the cinnamon scented candle on the table beside him…but no Connor was next to him. 

He didn’t require a bed, but the sensory touch of soft fabric and plush pillow against synthetic skin was comfortable, and the weight of Knox resting beside him brought him more peace than he fully knew how to explain. 

That being said, at his core Connor was still fond of routine. More prone to rising early, there was only so much waiting for Knox he could do before impatience would kick in, prompting the detective android to rise and start the day alone for the time being. Tucking in the sheets around the other -- more an act of care than necessity -- the curtains were drawn and the window was opened for ventilation before Connor disappeared to dress himself, as well as check on the two other canine members of this unusual family unit. 

By the time he returned with both Macho and Ray in tow, it seemed as though Knox had finally decided to join them, prompting a subtle smile from Connor as he came to a stop in the bedroom doorway, watching on as the two dogs eagerly charged in to say their ‘hello’s’.

“I got the groceries, but I couldn’t read the last thing on your list. Is this even close?”

“It’s too hot. Open a window or something.”

“Could you please grab me a drink while you’re up?”

“Here. Blankets. Since you won’t quit complaining about the cold.”

“Come here. You’re shivering.”

“There’s nothing we need to do today but relax. Why are you running around, exactly?”

“Thanks for taking care of the laundry.”

“Quiet down! I’m trying to read.”

“What are you working on?”

“It’s new. What do you think?”

“Sit down and let me do your hair.”

“I think it’s time for a new look. I want to help.”

“You want me to try on that?”

“Did you steal my shirt again?”

“I know I had three more in the fridge. You swear you don’t know where they went?”

“Don’t you think these flowers brighten the place up?”

“I made dinner. Your favorite.”

“You made some for me to eat, too? Thank you!”

“I couldn’t sleep either.”

“Let’s stay up and watch the stars.”

“I’ve got snacks!”

“Can we just sit here together?”

“This is nice. Quiet.”
