Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā The #SeekSerenity campaign is for people who are struggling with the mental health disorders anxiety and/or depression. Not all people who are suffering from these two mental illnesses have the means to obtain professional help. This campaign is to teach them several different steps they can take that are more financially affordable and easily accessible to help them combat their anxiety and/or depression. The brochure part of the campaign has a Sanskrit symbol on the front which translates to the English word āBreathe.ā Across this Symbol are the words āCombat Anxiety and Depression.ā The cover page of the brochure is straight forward and leaves no room for confusion for what the #SeekSerenity campaign is about. The next several pages discuss the different steps a person can take to help them combat their anxiety and/or depression. The seven steps they can take include: meditation, spending more time in nature, breathing exercises, practicing forgiveness, eating real food and drinking more water, accepting imperfection, and lastly having more contact with their family and friends. Each step is further explained on how it specifically will help a person relieve their anxiety and/or depression. Underneath each step is a symbol that corresponds with that specific step, and at the end of the brochure is a sigil for the campaign made up of parts from all seven symbols. This allows the viewer to think of a specific picture or symbol when talking or thinking about what they campaign stands for. The hashtag as well as the website for the campaign is also on the last page, as well as every other piece of the campaign, so itās the last thing the viewer will read when reading their brochure.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā The campaign poster has a background made up of calming purple colors. On top of this background is the Sanskrit symbol for the word breath, and it is divided into seven different sections that correspond with the seven different step the brochure talked about. Each section has a different color as well that corresponds with the colors of the different chakras of the human body. The first section of the symbol is violet and corresponds with the first step: Meditate. The second section is indigo and corresponds with Nature. The third section is blue and corresponds with Breathing Exercises. The fourth step is green and corresponds with the fourth step with is to Practice Forgiveness. The fifth section of the symbol is yellow and corresponds with the step to Eat Real Food and Drink More Water. The sixth section is orange and corresponds with Accepting Imperfection, while the last section is red and corresponds with the last step which is to have More Contact with Family and Friends.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā The campaign car pamphlet also lists out all seven steps a person can take to combat their anxiety and/or depression. It also has these steps listed out in another calming image. The point of this campaign is not to stress out the viewer but to remind them and make sure they remember all they can do to help themselves in a calm and relaxing manner. The car pamphlet has a stack of rocks balancing on each other, with each rock containing a different step. The rocks balancing on each other is also symbolism for balancing the steps one can take to help themselves. One shouldnāt spend too much time focusing on one or two steps, all seven steps are crucial in reducing a personās anxiety and/or depression and should have relatively equal time put into each of them. There are seven stickers of the campaign and each sticker has a different step with that stepās symbol on it, as well as the campaign hashtag. While the three different coasters for the campaign have the campaign sigil on one, the Sanskrit symbol from the poster and cover page of the brochure on the other, and the balancing rocks with the sevens steps in side of them on the last. All three coasters have the campaign hashtag printed on them as well.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Overall, I am proud of this campaign. If I had to do anything differently, it would probably be to make it more obvious what the campaign was about, instead of it just being obvious on the brochure. Only the brochure has the words āCombat Anxiety and Depressionā on it which is essentially what the entire campaign is about. Instead I would find someway to bring those words to the other pieces of the campaign as well. As a creator I enjoyed this process of creating something that could potentially help people who are actually struggling from a very real mental health disorder. It is very satisfying seeing all the time and effort put into multiple different pieces come together as one whole campaign. I could see this campaign becoming a ānon-guerrillaā campaign by forming an online community through the campaign website, where people can connect and support each other who are struggling with common mental health disorders. Maybe even take it a step further and create a place where people can meet up to perform these steps together and create new relationships with one another. It can become a place for people who are going through these mental health disorders to go to and be surrounded by other people and not be overwhelmed, or feel like an outcast, but instead feel warmth and a sense of serenity.
