As Sora is laid onto his heart station, the camera pans up to distant light above, shining down on Sora.

I had suspected this might be meant to represent Riku’s light, as Riku was the one to wake him from his sleep. But now we may have actual solid evidence that this particular light IS Riku’s.  In the last DLC trailer as Sora says “Everyone always told me to just follow my heart…”, he is shown looking directly up from his own heart station and leaping to reach Riku’s above. This seems to imply that Riku’s heart station is directly above Sora’s, upside down from his perspective (though there isn’t really an “up” or “down” in this place). And the light from Riku’s heart station would be seen shining down on Sora’s, just like that light in DDD (which also happens to have the same purple/blue hue)

i spent a few days straight drawing this bc i thought about the "go for it, nakamura!" cover art redraw meme and i thought it would be so cute and then i got carried away
