The Qur’an is [more than] a Light in this present darkness.
Like a torch whose light is not affixed directly at your feet — rather, it should be positioned to illuminate the path a few steps ahead. The result? Each step you take is taken into darkness, but because the torch showed you the path ahead, you know where to step — even while surrounded by darkness.
Similarly, the Qur’an lights the path ahead, showing us where to step, and how to move forward with confidence.
Even in the darkness of the darkest night, our hearts remain certain: we walk boldly, not blindly, firm in the guidance granted to us by Allah through His Book.
Al Qur’an is Noor upon Noor — not only revealing the path but instilling the courage to walk it.

I was literally having amazing shower thoughts, and after drying myself and leaving the bathroom once I go to my phone, I could no longer remember these Einsteinian shower thoughts. Which leads me to ask, is anything ever posted — on social media or the Internet that is labeled as a shower thought — an actual shower thought? Because shower thoughts as I’m beginning to understand remain in the shower and disappear the moment you turn the tap off or walk out the shower.
Sometimes I watch in dub with the subs turned on. I like to reflect on the subtle differences, why those differences exist — intentional or otherwise, and how these differences change the meaning of what was said/intended.
However, sub definitely leaves more to ones imagination.
RESPONSE to "What Kenya's elites don't want us to see" Al Jazeera article by a Kenyan writer
Here's the article: http://aje.me/1rGJuEx ******* Inasmuch as the article is by a Kenyan, it is CLEARLY biased against the government, and knowing Al Jazeera's (it's Qatari---the the ones funding ISIS, the terror groups in Syria) history with taking sides (often the wrong one) and serving "Western interests", we should be weary of trusting what they have to say about the issues, esp political, that they report. Case in point: 1. The article says the courts banned the 7/7 rally... FALSE! In the SAME linked article by Gathara is the following statement: 'Justice Isaac Lenaola, however, declined to stop the rally as requested through the application by Nairobi Senator Gideon Mbuvi Sonko, but warned the Cord leaders not to use the forum to incite the public to violence or interfere with those not attending the rally. “The public meeting organised by the coalition on July 7 shall proceed as planned during which they shall exercise their rights to assemble peacefully without being armed and without any defamatory rhetoric or disturbing activities of those not attending the rally,” ruled Justice Lenaola.' Of course that's why he used the word "reportedly"--which, it seems he hasn't quite grasped the meaning of. "The court apparently declared CORD leaders would be held personally liable".... Is this guy for real???? It was the exact opposite!!! See 2. Concerning Mpeketoni and Lamu attacks, anyone with the faintest clue about the modus operandi of terrorists groups and in this case Al Shabaab will AT LEAST question the claim that they were behind the attack. From the collision with the police, the deadly accuracy of the gunmen (many --majority?-- died from head shots), the destruction of property... Looks more like the MO of the group(s) behind ethnic cleansing activities against the Oromo, Pokot, etc, last year... Still needs investigating though, but let's not be hasty. There are forces that want to see the government fail--forces both inside and outside Kenya. 3. "With Saba Saba now upon us, the media is inundated by appeals to peace and stability...Kenyans are being scared into silence; into not asking uncomfortable questions; into turning a blind eye to government malfeasance" Whaaaaat!? I think every sane minded Kenyan knows what these rallies can turn in to... Even CORD leaders didn't want to be seen anywhere near this "call for national dialogue" (read incitement to revolution...by the way there have been calls for revolution, whatever that may mean to someone who once attempted a coup)
21 out of 24 mind you. Raila is the one fanning flames... Just listen to his and his cronies speeches and watch their actions... Is he really calling for dialogue by skipping Cohesion talks at Safari Park to attend the funeral of a killed Sheikh in Mombasa (PURE PR in my view) ahead of his rally at the coast? Is he really calling for dialogue by holding rallies to stifle hate towards a democratically elected government? Hmmmm...where have we seen this before...Libya, Syria, Ukraine, majority of the "Arab Spring"? A few making enough noise to warrant foreign intervention? Ahmedinassir puts it best, " during the March 4th Presidential petition, where he referred to Raila as seasonal loser who had never conceded defeat"... Hit the nail on the head! Back to Gathara's/AJ's/Raila's article :D "Why would something as mundane in a democracy as an opposition political rally cause such uproar and fear?" ----->errrm POV 2007 anyone? There are more points I'm sure, but Mr. Gathara's conclusion is a dead give away: "The truth is the shenanigans and fear-mongering surrounding the Saba Saba rally have nothing to do with improving the welfare of Kenyans. On the contrary, they are about distracting us from the farmhouse window and from seeing that the Liberation has been stolen." Now who does this sound like? "Our Liberation has been stolen"... Or does he mean "so-and-so was supposed to be president but the elections were rigged"... OMG... Omg omg.... Take away? Don't believe everything you read. Don't believe everything you hear. There's something called Lying---people do it everyday. I'm not pro- this party or pro- this tribe, I'm just pro- truth and justice... We must have a keen eye, and a critical discerning mind... We look at horrific situations in other parts of the world and never imagine it could happen to us... The middle east is how it is today *primarily because of oil... So is nigeria... And sudan... Look at the Congo... Minerals... Wealth.... Kenya is richer than we realize, it's naïve to think people aren't interested in it. *** a prayer for Kenya, and our brothers in Palestine!*** Good day!
