Just realized how well my username fits with pan!Owen. Maybe I really can predict the future holy shit. I changed this like a month and a half before pantheon started so it wouldn’t be directly referencing fandom, but irony kicked my ass anyway
I just want to say that I am absolutely adoring all of my pan!Owen art I’ve seen. I do have one request for any fanartist reading this, though. Can you… malnourish him? Can you make him bones? Please? She is a blind beggar and presumably in the same state she was when she died so… don’t be afraid to show her ribs and collarbones. I would greatly appreciate this :]

I know I’ve joked about CC!Owen ending his character’s stories with infinite torture chambers. But I would like to point out that this time, he fucking started with it. We are so screwed. Pan!Owen is so screwed. It’s going to get a little better and then end horribly. Pan!Owen is going to spend her entire existence as a character in an infinite torture chamber. (Whether the chamber is the tournament or his own mind is up to you to decide.)
Is now a good time to talk about my DID system Owen au again? Because pan!Owen works really well with my current concepts and ideas. The dude literally comes with funky memory and a displacement from reality. Pan!Owen is going to be a gatekeeper, I think. It works well with his character

I am. Unwell. I’m on my fifth watch of the first episode. All I can think about is how his constant displacement from reality and memory issues could be a dissociative disorder in a modern au. I need everyone to know just how much angst potential is here. She was/is/will be a blind beggar after all, her life has almost certainly not been good. (I will be posting about that some time this week. Stay tune.)

Everyone prepare yourselves for how obnoxious I’m going to be about this series. If you thought I was bad about Owain, you haven’t seen anything yet. I’m already on my third rewatch of Owen’s first episode.
FIRST PANTHEON ANALYSIS POST YAYAYAYA
Fair warning, I haven’t been watching Owen’s streams very often since Bannerfall ended (I got really into descendants, don't ask) so if he’s talked about pan!Owen on there, I don’t know about it so there is large margin for error! But this also being written before the first episode comes out, so there's an even larger margin for error!
here on pan!Owen will just be Owen and actual person Owen will be referred to as CC!Owen
That being said! I want to talk about Owen's eyes and whether or not she actually is blind. Personally, I think if anyone in the pantheon cast could pull off playing a blind character respectfully and somewhat accurately---for minecraft at least---it would be CC!Owen. Do I think he would actually do it? Eh... I doubt it. It would be cool if he did, but reasonably, it doesn't make a lot of sense for the storytelling method, aka video/primarily first person gameplay, and it would be a bit weird for a seeing person to play a blind character without a lot of caveats. Though! I will say I do like the idea of a play on "time blindness" and/or the phrase "time is a blind guide" which I think would work really well for the champion of time, the person being "guided" by time.
Now! Why do I think Owen's eyes are closed on the skin? My running theory is that her powers are tied to whether or not her eyes are open. That sounds ridiculous! I know! Stay with me! Keep in mind, I am going only off of the official art, the skin, and Owen's stream about Chronos/Kronos from today (8/8)
In the announcement art, Owen has his eyes open and both her hands and eyes are glowing. In the skin, her eyes are closed (so obviously not glowing) and her hands appear completely normal. To me, that indicates a definite correlation and a potential causation. What would the causation be, you ask? (I do run on audience participation, it gives me motivation.) When her eyes open, her powers overwhelm her and overflow. CC!Owen said he was working on many interactions of Chronos combined, so I don't think it's very out there to say that the personification of time putting power into a single (mortal) entity would be quite overwhelming and might even overflow from the entity. Plus! In the thumbnail peak CC!Owen gave us at the end of the presentation, Owen's eyes were open and there was glowy magic around her. I don't have any basis for this theory, not really. At least none that makes much sense.
I tried to find different ways that Chronos related to eyes and couldn't find anything. There are a few sayings about time and seeing, but none that I thought would mean much. There is the concept of Chronostasis, but again, just because it uses the Greek root doesn't mean anything. If this gets proven very very wrong tomorrow, feel free to shame me
