Sometimes the greatest sarcasm is wasted.Â
This might be the best thing Iâve seen in a while: A reply from CEO of J.P. Morgan to a pretty girl seeking a rich husband A young and pretty lady posted this on a popular forum: Title: What should I do to marry a rich guy? Iâm going to be honest of what Iâm going to say here. Iâm 25...
Donât ever compliment me by insulting other women. Thatâs not a compliment, itâs a competition none of us agreed to.

Okay if you canât fuck a girl because of:
Pubic hair
Stretch marks
ScarsÂ
Any other natural occurrence of the human body
You arenât really worthy of it anyway.
Amen

We were discussing homosexuality because of an allusion to it in the book we were reading, and several boys made comments such as, âThatâs disgusting.â We got into the debate and eventually a boy admitted that he was terrified/disgusted when he was once sharing a taxi and the other male passenger made a pass at him. The lightbulb went off. âOh,â I said. âI get it. See, you are afraid, because for the first time in your life you have found yourself a victim of unwanted sexual advances by someone who has the physical ability to use force against you.â The boy nodded and shuddered visibly.âBut,â I continued. âAs a woman, you learn to live with that from the time you are fourteen, and it never stops. We live with that fear every day of our lives. Every man walking through the parking garage the same time you are is either just a harmless stranger or a potential rapist. Every time.â The girls in the room nodded, agreeing. The boys seemed genuinely shocked. âSo think about that the next time you hit on a girl. Maybe, like you in the taxi, she doesnât actually want you to.â
Andrew Sullivan, Homophobia: The fear that another man will treat you like you treat women.

Show me the passion.
You crawl into bed with me, muttering about how I am so hard to read. How it frustrates you; fucks with your mind.
You want to be close to me, with your fingers tracing the outline of the flesh that makes my body real. But your mind will not still and your words run in dizzy circles.
You are trying to make sense of me; a complex entity you are still trying to âfigure outâ.
But I am not a riddle for you to solve, nor a puzzle for you to piece together.
I am a human being who lives and breathes amidst an ocean of emotion, and you are further complicating me with your own self-made projections.
You sound like you want me to change, but I know better than that.
âLook, the bottom line is this⌠Do you like me?â I ask.
âYes, very much so,â you reply.
âThen everything else is just thoughts.â
You see I stopped caring about the specific details of what other people think long before I met you. I am who I am and you admire me for that; even if you cannot see that the very mystery you tell me frustrates you is the same thing that turns you on and leads you on this passionate wild goose chase.
You are searching for the girl of your dreams.
She is not me, but you think she could be and thatâs what keeps you holding on.
We started kissing, but your kisses are suffocating. I prefer your quiet touch; like a shy teenage boy discovering the actuality of a woman for the first time. For whatever reason this turns me on.
I lie quietly surrendering to the hedonistic pleasure of the moment. Maybe I should get you to stop. I am still not convinced I want to go this way with you. In actual fact, I am not really interested in you, but my body is aroused and curious. I let you in. Let you feel what it is like to be inside me. Yet somewhere along the line, the passion runs dry before we can even stop to figure out why.
My mind wanders. Moments ago this was exciting and new. Now you are just some guy getting your rocks off. You are thrusting up against me but I am not really there for you am I? You are not even touching me. I want to feel the presence of a man all around me. I want you to touch my breasts, bite my neck, grasp my ribcage. But you just thrust.
I roll out from under you. I cannot be bothered to finish what we have started. It is just too empty; like eating junk food that does not even pleasure the tastebuds.
You ask me âwhatâs up?â
I just want to be honest, so I tell you âI canât feel your passion.â
Truth is, I am over the meaningless sex â especially when it is this flat and uninspiring.
In the past I would sit through the shitty sex; bite my tongue, sometimes even pretend to enjoy it, but I do not want to pretend anymore.
In life Iâve learned that the more I can say no to what I donât want, the more life gives me what I do want and itâs moments like these that call for some clarification.Â
So, though it surprised you, this was me clarifying:
I wanted you to fuck me; take me over with your uncontrollable passion.
I wanted you to worship me; like I am your beauty and you are my beast.
I wanted to feel your strength as a man; feel held in your bare hands.
I wanted to be ravaged; enveloped in a puddle of mad love making, even if we kept our hearts to ourselves this time.
You wanted me to be on top.
Come on! Seriously? It is our first time together and you want me to be on top?
Lets get one thing straight, you want this more than I do, and as you embark upon this journey, here is to hoping you can make me come in the process.
But if you canât inspire me by making me feel something deeper than the weight of your body pressed up against mine, then youâre wasting my time Iâm going to sleep. Its 4am and I am tired.
âYouâre always in controlâ you say, obviously frustrated.
No shit Sherlock.
Unless you want to be a rapist, of course I am in control. Nothing will ever change that. But if you were to grow some balls and wanted to pretend that you were in control, wellâŚI can do role play.
You came around to my logic sooner or later, agreeing that something was missing. I feel a little resentment inside, for all those times I grit my teeth and let the bad sex carry on. There is an angry wildness within me but it scared me more so in the past. Now it gives me strength and I am working on expressing it in a healthy way. After all, as David Deida says, a woman who can freely express her anger makes for an amazing lover.
I lie awake in the silence looking at the ceiling. It is not awkward for me. In this moment I feel strong and proud of myself. We never finished what we started and I am glad I made this a conscious choice. This is a turning point where I stood up for my truth; a declaration that I will take no less that what I deserve. And what I deserve is passionate sex.
Reminiscing on my teenage years, too often would I pretend the sex was satisfying when really I was so disappointed. I remember the relationship of a good friend and how only when they broke up (seven years later) did she reveal that the sex was unsatisfying. Before that it was all peaches and cream.
I wonder at how many women spend their whole lives pretendingâŚ
Enough. Now it is all or nothing. You want to make love to me? Then make love to me like you really mean it. Otherwise I can take it or leave it. I demand passion for ransom and I am fully prepared to take the reins and pull the cart to a halt if you give me anything less.
This explains rape perfectly.

You want to say Hi to the cute girl on the subway. How will she react? Fortunately, I can tell you with some certainty, because sheâs already sending messages to you. Looking out the window, reading a book, working on a computer, arms folded across chest, body away from you = do not disturb. So, yâknow, donât disturb her. Really. Even to say that you like her hair, shoes, or book. A compliment is not always a reason for women to smile and say thank you. You are a threat, remember? You are SchrĂśdingerâs Rapist. Donât assume that whatever you have to say will win her over with charm or flattery. Believe what sheâs signaling, and back off. If you speak, and she responds in a monosyllabic way without looking at you, sheâs saying, âI donât want to be rude, but please leave me alone.â You donât know why. It could be âPlease leave me alone because I am trying to memorize Beowulf.â It could be âPlease leave me alone because you are a scary, scary man with breath like a water buffalo.â It could be âPlease leave me alone because I am planning my assassination of a major geopolitical figure and I will have to kill you if you are able to recognize me and blow my cover.â On the other hand, if she is turned towards you, making eye contact, and she responds in a friendly and talkative manner when you speak to her, you are getting a green light. You can continue the conversation until you start getting signals to back off. The fourth point: If you fail to respect what women say, you label yourself a problem. Thereâs a man with whom I went out on a single dateâafternoon coffee, for one hour by the clockâon July 25th. In the two days after the date, he sent me about fifteen e-mails, scolding me for non-responsiveness. I e-mailed him back, saying, âLook, this is a disproportionate response to a single date. You are making me uncomfortable. Do not contact me again.â It is now October 7th. Does he still e-mail? Yeah. He does. About every two weeks. This man scores higher on the threat level scale than Man with the Cockroach Tattoos. (Who, after all, is guilty of nothing more than terrifying bad taste.) You see, Mr. E-mail has made it clear that he ignores what I say when he wants something from me. Now, I donât know if he is an actual rapist, and I sincerely hope heâs not. But he is certainly SchrĂśdingerâs Rapist, and this particular SchrĂśdingerâs Rapist has a probability ratio greater than one in sixty. Because a man who ignores a womanâs NO in a non-sexual setting is more likely to ignore NO in a sexual setting, as well. So if you speak to a woman who is otherwise occupied, youâre sending a subtle message. It is that your desire to interact trumps her right to be left alone. If you pursue a conversation when sheâs tried to cut it off, you send a message. It is that your desire to speak trumps her right to be left alone. And each of those messages indicates that you believe your desires are a legitimate reason to override her rights. For women, who are watching you very closely to determine how much of a threat you are, this is an important piece of data.

HOLY FUCK THE TRUTH.
Can every one of my male followers read this? And please, before you get defensive (âI would never rape anyone!â) keep in mind, women being afraid of Shrodingerâs Rapists (oh my god i still canât get over the encompassing brilliance of this phrase) is a conditioned, learned response from being immersed in rape culture and the evolution of sexism and sexual violence in our society from the day weâre born. And unfortunately, itâs very difficult to unlearn without the efforts of all genders to dismantle it. Which is where you come in.

A few months ago I was going homeâ it was dark, the streets were empty, I was tense. I was also very vulnerable. Then a car drove by and stopped on the side, and every survival instinct ingrained in me since I was eleven went âshit shit shitâ. Two young men in the inside of the car peeked outâ I was considering whether to run away, but one of them noticed my fear and immediately understood what I feared, and reassured me: âOh, weâre really sorry miss, we didnât mean to scare you. We just wanted to get directions for this place.â I immediately relaxedâ these two recognized that I was in a difficult situation and instead of trying to make me more uncomfortable, stepped away and tried to reassure me that no, they only wanted directions. I canât tell you how much this means when youâre in a situation like this.
On the contrary, one time I was on a bus, doing sudoku, and this older man suddenly pushes into my personal space, saying he wants to âhelp meâ play and gives me advice, his hand on my thigh. This in front of all the other passengers, who donât say a thing. I repeatedly ask him to move away, to leave me alone, and itâs only when I shout that he finally pulls away, looking genuinely confused at why I was angry and scared, and muttering a âfrosty bitchâ when moving away. This was a terrifying experienceâ it was only when I âmade a sceneâ that he moved away, not when I repeatedly and calmly asked him to stop and told him he was making me uncomfortable. He didnât care, because in his eyes I was the terrible one, and I owed him something.
The younger men recognized my ânoâ and my fearâ they respected it. That older man didnât.Â

Sometimes I tell men about how we experience this and they tell me Iâm just overreacting or trying to criminalize male desire. If they say something like that I immediately trust them less and would feel uncomfortable being alone with them. It communicates pretty clearly that they believe my attention automatically belongs to those who want it or else Iâm ârudeâ and guilty of not being an accommodating, friendly woman. In short: Donât tell me my discomfort in these situations is irrational when my actual experience indicates that people (in my case, usually men) WILL try to touch me on the bus, follow me home, curse at me if I wonât give them my number, and pull up next to me while Iâm walking asking if I want to ride with them (and continue to ask after I say no).
Itâs certainly not irrational to distrust strangers who choose to open their interaction with me this way, because I know that if I were to blithely trust them, any horrible thing that happens to me will be blamed on me for getting into a car with a stranger or telling a stranger where I live. Weâre attacked and shamed for not fighting hard enough, not being invisible enough, not being decisive enough with our NOs (supposedly), but then weâre also attacked and shamed for not being accommodating, not being demure and friendly, not being subservient to those who have been trained to think women like aggressiveness, âoverâconfidence, persuasiveness, and determination. The rape culture isnât just the part of the culture that blames the victim. The rape culture is the part of the culture that trains people of all genders to act this way and protects them from criticism and HELPS them blame victims. ITâS BAD FOR ALL OF US.

Guys, if you want to relate to this, think back to the time when an, um, âreligious enthusiastâ accosted you public transportation where you (a) obviously were preoccupied (b) and not interested (c) and could not get away. Creepy, huh? Yep. Donât. âK?

how sad it is that we create a society where we raise boys to base their self worth on whether or not they can trick unsuspecting women into sleeping with them and we raise girls to base their self worth on how long they lasted until they were tricked
We teach females that in relationships, compromise is what women do. We raise girls to see each other as competitors, not for jobs or for accomplishmentsâ which I think can be a good thingâ but for the attention of men. We teach girls that they cannot be sexual beings in the way that boys are. If we have sons, we donât mind knowing about our sonsâ girlfriends, but our daughters boyfriends? âGod forbid!â But of course when the time is right, we expect those girls to bring back the perfect man to be their husband. We police girls, we praise girls for virginity, but we donât praise boys for virginity. And itâs always made me wonder how exactly this is supposed to work out because *laughs* the loss of virginity is usually a process that involves *laughs*⌠We teach girls shame. âClose your legs!â âCover yourself!â We make them feel as though by being born female, they are already guilty of something. And so, girls grow up to be women who cannot say they have desire. They grow up to be women who silence themselves. They grow up to be women who cannot say what they truly think. And they grow upâand this is the worst thing we do to girlsâthey grow up to be women who have turned pretense into an artform.
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, TedxEuston (x)

If it doesnât consume your every thought, leave.
If you donât think of her every time a pretty face smiles, leave.
If you can breath when thinking what life would be like without her, leave.
