A summary quote in most issues: “Parterre Box is a about remembering when opera was queer and dangerous and exciting and making it that way again.” Content shifted digitally after the ceasing of this bimonthly zine, into an online blog and then a podcast.

not a zine but still musical ephemera on paper: a “newspaper sleeve” for PiL’s “Public Image” single [1978]. Later pressings were issued in a normal sleeve, but early ones had this tabloid parody sheet, with misspellings and nonsense stories.
I think I’ve posted about Terrapin [1972-76] before, but I always liked its design. Just has that classic fanzine “spirit” I guess of loving a topic that is impenetrable but run by very dedicated fans. Scrappings of news and mail-submissions/thoughts from the public. Psychedelic marker swirlies and drawings. And—most importantly—multiple crosswords!

It’s everything I think a zine should be: maximalist, abstract, a little raunchy, it’s weird, at times its hard to read and almost completely illegible. But its damn beautiful. It’s fucking crazy.
