Why Jinshi is perfect for Maomao 💜
Some people think that Maomao and Jinshi couldn’t work because she lacks any ability to feel romantic connection. That she rejects his advances because she either doesn’t like him personally or that she was born with an inability to feel in that way at all. Neither are true. In actuality, Jinshi is the one person best suited to Maomao. Why? Because she doesn’t lack the capability to feel romantic emotion, she’s just emotionally closed off.
Due to an upbringing where her needs and wants were ignored, along with abuse and complicated early relationships, Maomao has learned to shut herself off out of protection. She’s come to believe she’s incapable of feeling love because to her love is something seen as undesirable and scary. Viewed through the lens of the pleasure district, love was always a game. It was likely if you love someone you’d get hurt. Also, when she cried and expressed the need for something, no one answered her so she simply stopped expressing those needs and wants.
“You’ll never find some fine prince whose heart will never change. That’s one lesson you can’t escape here. What does trust ever get you? When you come down to it, I’m a whore, and you’re a whore’s daughter.”
So, I would argue that Maomao, as a person who has become emotionally reserved or closed off due to past experiences, is best suited for Jinshi who is very emotionally available. He counters her reservation head on. While this is often what is seen as “forceful” or ignoring her wishes, I’d disagree. It’s him trying to break through an exterior Maomao has learned to put up to protect herself. When she only sees herself as a tool and expendable, Jinshi finds ways to make her feel valuable, to work within how she sees the world and hopefully expand her view of her own worth little by little.
I see many people still try to excuse the actions of Sakamaki brothers, so I want to say it once and for all
THEIR BEHAVIOUR IS UNEXCUSABLE!!!!
Do you hear me? No, it doesn't make it okay since they were abused themselves! No, their trauma doesn't excuse them abusing and killing all those girls!!! No, it doesn't excuse their treatment of Yui!!!!
Now, it's a different thing to explain WHY they are the way they are. But it is another to EXCUSE their behaviour with it!!!!
In their core, they are VAMPIRES. Demonic entities who do not posses much human emotions and empathy. And frankly, most of the boys are sadistic BY NATURE!! Just look at Shu and Reiji. True, Beatrix wasn't the warmest of mothers out there. But you can't say she was horrible, and you certainly cannot say that she is the one responsible for how cruel Shu and Reiji grew up to be. Reiji literally burned down an entire village AS A CHILD!!! A freaking child!!!
The triplets are of course the most traumatised, since their mother was Cordelia, and she was especially cruel and cold (and we all know what she did to each of her sons). But again, you cannot say that "well, it's normal that they treat girls like that, look at their childhood". No!! Their trauma doesn't make it okay for them to abuse and kill propably hundreds of teenage girls.
And lastly Subaru. Yeah, Christa wasn't a good mom. But then again, her own situation was very bad (still doesn't make it okay with how she treated her son) but at her core, I believe she loves Subaru. It's just unfortunate that he reminds her of Karl (whom she loves and hates at the same time).
But Subaru himself is....well....with him I always have these mixed feelings. Yeah, he's a tsundere, and he believes that nobody can love him and he should always be alone. BUT....he also killed some brides. And while some of them may have been accidents, some of them weren't. He has major anger issues, and is like a ticking bomb. One moment he's chill and can actually talk to you, and the next he's punching a hole in the wall (or your face). And again, I understand why he's like this, BUT....it doesn't make it okay for him to literally destroy anything and anyone in his reach......
And don't even get me started on the SA that they commit. Truly, Yui and the other brides go through some truly horrible SA in this story, and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE BOYS DO IT!!!!
And yeah, some are worse (Laito), but many of them still do it, whether coercion, manipulating or straight up R*PE, sometimes in front of the other guys. Sweet Jesus......
That is all, don't excuse their behaviour just because "they are hot". Theh are demons.

SHE isn’t forgiven, instead it’s used as a way to say she wouldn’t make a good queen and has no care at all for the small folk (she is the only royal family member attempting to keep the realm united as of right now).

I was literally having an argument with a TG stan who told me that they found Alicent and Cole’s affair very romantic because it was like watching two secret lovers trying to live their forbidden love in the middle of a war. And when I spoke about the hypocrisy of those two characters they literally said: “Give them a break. They are finally enjoying a little bit of happiness and pleasure. You TB fans always defend Rhaenyra for sleeping with Harwin, so why can’t Alicent sleep with Cole?”.
Dude, TB fans don’t judge Alicent’s actions because she had sex out of wedlock, we judge her because she is doing the very same thing that she criticized Rhaenyra for. If Alicent wouldn’t have spent the entire season 1 badmouthing and judging Rhaenyra for having sex out of wedlock, no one would care if Alicent slept with the entire Red Keep. But she is a hypocrite. Like Aemond himself said: “Her grace speaks with two tongues.” (In more aspects than one.)
