You can do a good solid 30 year chunk of history from 1955 - 1985. And have everything play out over 6 to 8 seasons.

It has all the elements you need to make good TV. Lots of murder, lots of corruption, lots of sex, marginalization of women, religion, drugs, hot people with Afros, and Pam Grier would be someone’s grandma on the show and we can see those big ass titties again.
