Now, we all know this has been a hard year. Lost a lot of people. Friends. Co-workers. Mothers. But this year has also given us the opportunity to put stock on what’s important, to let go what we need to let go of, and hold tight to things that we want. And remember what matters the most… That’s right… is each one of us. To be the guiding force and not to let our ego and our pain and our past guide us, but be guided by something that is more mighty, wiser, and stronger, Father God. When this first happened, it’s like the world was saying if you’re old, Black, and poor, your life ain’t worth saving. We didn’t matter. A lot of us went to some dark places last year. You know, you’d be surprised the things you begin to believe if somebody keeps telling it to you over and over again. Well, hear this over and over again, Mr. Prosper. We got you. I got you. No matter what.

Ralph Angel , you are the best father to Blue. You are exquisite. And you’re gonna be a father again… I’m pregnant. With your child… You’re my blessing. You truly are. I love you.

I can’t believe he’s gone. He ain’t gone, Blue. That’s a mighty man. His spirit gon’ live forever. Look, man, when you good in this world, you live on. Even when you in a different place.

This whole damn year feels like somebody’s bad dream. Yes, it does. 

We can wake up though. Open our eyes to our blessings. Try to get right with our hearts. Our spirits. We can work on stuff that matters. Our businesses. This election. Keep ourselves busy with good trouble. Like Congressman Lewis said,

There aren’t enough doctors and beds. There are people who are worse than me. Like I said… We can keep monitoring you here, for now. I got three doctors on standby, walking me through everything. Remote monitoring as much as we can. You’re stable right now, Charley. But if anything slips, I will not hesitate to get you what you need. Even if I have to build a damn bed myself.
