Not much to say... it seems that the integration between Tumblr and Facebook is finally working, so just posting this on Tumblr to see what sort of engagement it gets when shunted by the Tumblr app on to Facebook.

"A Bygone Age" Doesn’t it make you think when you see old architecture? The level of attention and thought that has gone in to every detail, even those so far about your head you wouldn’t be able to see them. Now it seems that architecture has immersed itself in the white cardboard models and has lost it’s way. Please feel free to share.

"StainD" This wasn't the image I wanted to get on my visit to St Matthews-in-the-City, but I couldn't bring myself to walk past the sunlight shining through the stained glass window. "Where Time Stands Still" I took the day off work today and wandered around town for the morning with my camera. After arriving back at the train station and finding it to be nearly an hour until the next train home, I decided to act on a conversation in passing with Leigh from Raw Earth Photography about the old train station in Auckland. I poked my head through the door and no one seemed too concerned about me being there, so I started to get set up to take a few pictures. Needless to say, it didn't take long until an officious building manager swooped in and said a big no-no to the use of a tripod. Still, managed a few nice shots handheld despite the dim light. I like that the old building is given a new lease of life as apartments, but it seems such a waste to have grand architecture mostly empty and soulless. It was the little things like the clock not working, it was an empty echo to a bygone day when the halls would have echoed to the bustle of passengers boarding their trains. Now it sits in silence. I love this spot. It's a great place to hang out and take pictures at night. Maybe sometime I will go during the day....?

First day of spring. And it  felt like it.

A slightly macabre shot, I have to admit.... I spent the afternoon teaching some students about lighting and playing around with different combinations of continuous lights and speedlights. This was my shot, though the arm model was not hurt during the process. The students probably think I am a bit odd.
