orlam hair blob fanclub

this guy is an attendant of sorts, who slowly morphed into something else. hes large even for a rabbit, and is overgrown and shaggy. his fur is thick and brittle, a muted brown like a warm and muddy pool, and he has dense and heavy hands. he is dour and quiet, soft like damp mold and hard like the ear-blistening crack of heavy wood splitting down the middle. hes stewing and broiling about his situation, but believes fully that he cannot do anything about it -- instead, he fuels his discontent back into itself until it morphs into nihilistic enjoyment.

he thinks people like jerry are idealistic idiots. the thought of living past this life, this castle, this kingdom, this king, is impossible to him. he will live this life forever, or he will die when it dies. he believes more or less the same for every other subject, but wholly for himself.

orlam pretends he doesnt exist. blocks him out of his mind, until the eventual reccurring moment where his emotions flood him, and nothing else will do anymore. this guy is his vessel for taking out these such emotions, externalized through orlam's eye and hand.

his role is a picture of familiarity and all desired from it. he is to orchestrate the gentle stroke of babys hair -- the screaming slam of bedroom door -- the pull of a shirt collar and shove to the linoleum -- a silent dance -- in body of brown fur, floppy ear, quivering whisker.

so as he does these familiarities and fantasy - orlam pretends he doesnt exist.

they have a room, that is small, and dark, and smells ambiently of must and mold. it is practically a storage closet, and is located near orlam's chambers. it has a single window, with a wall on the immediate other side.

him and orlam have very differing views of their relationship. and though he is somewhat aware orlam does not pay much attention to his personhood, using him rather as a glass to hold what he pleases, he greatly underestimates the extent of this. he thinks, or hopes, that orlam sees some sliver of a genuine, mutual relationship between them. he can be quite arrogant in this, seeing himself as paradoxically distinct from any other servant or subject.

mostly, he sees himself as irreplaceable. he is entirely disposable.

i can picture orlam killing him easily and suddenly: full of spit and emotion, in fear and overwhelm; or silently, in a reinstation of power over the things hes made him to embody; but most inevitably, he will kill him when genzou comes and fills the niche much better than some rabbit can. maybe he wont even kill him personally.

he doesnt have a name, but ive nicknamed him 'shag'.

i have a bit of a full plot for him in my head. funnily, orlam does not make much direct appearance (though its still very much a study of him, just through shag.. characters are fun like that). maybe someday, ill put it into something
