This is legitimately useful reframing. A while ago I started replacing the word "cop" in my vocabulary with "a man with a gun." It really puts things into perspective.

For a little more context: the survey for the new asexual flag had 1000+ participate in it. Also, AVEN had nothing to do with the survey besides purposefully hiding it on their forums.

I'd heard about the survey having over 1000 participants, but not about AVEN organizers hiding the survey, so that is definitely good information
