“Tell me I’m wrong.” (Ben)
Rey furrowed her brows as she stared up at Ben, her resolve not softening as her nose flared. "You're wrong." She managed out simply. This was how they always were, arguing over something stupid and neither backing away because of their stubborness. But he wasn't wrong. That was the problem and Rey knew it, she just couldn't say it.
Ben always knew that Rey was the partner who won most of the arguments in this house. This precious patch of paradise on Naboo. Still, he was bound and determined to get her to see reason. “The tablecloth goes the other way. It’s supposed to cover the entire table, not just the parts we eat on. And the pattern is supposed to be facing up.”
Rey puffed her cheeks as she shook her head and placed her hands on her hips. Her cheeks were tinted pink now. "No, it's fine the way it is." She snipped, going to the other side of the table as she pursed her lips. It was just a piece of cloth, why were there so many rules to follow with it? Shouldn't it be situated the way the owner wanted it? "I think it looks fine." Rey huffed.
Ben could not believe this is what they’ve been arguing over for the last hour or so. A kriffing tablecloth. By the Force, both of them were incredibly stubborn. He leaned on the table and stared her down, unmoved by the stalwart look on her face. The uncompromising mood that seemed to have fixated over their kitchen table. “You’ll think it looks silly once we have guests over.”
Rey didn't back down. "No I won't." She said simply. It was a simple piece of cloth. Who made rules about that? She didn't have much on Jakku, nor was she accustomed to even having 'guests' as Ben had put it. "I still think it looks fine." She turned her head slightly. "Where did you learn all this anyway?" Rey huffed.
“I’m gonna pop!!” (Vivienne)
Rey chuckled lightly and smiled. "You're due any day now right?" She asked as she looked to Vivienne warmly.
Vivienne rested her hands on her huge baby bump. “How ever could you tell?” She joked. “I’m going to miss it but having the baby in my arms will be amazing. Do you want to...?”
Rey beamed before giggling. "May I..?" She asked before nodding gently. "Oh I could imagine, carrying it for so long for it to finally be here. I'm excited for you." She smiled as she moved forward a bit towards Vivienne.
Even beyond the trappings of the Star Wars saga — the First Order, the Resistance, the Force — Rey’s story is inspiring, familiar, and timeless. Just because you come from nothing doesn’t mean you’re not part of the story. You’re not no one, because anybody can save the galaxy. Anybody. — WOMEN OF THE GALAXY by Amy Ratcliffe, 2018
“Oh you’re getting so big now!” (Vivienne)
Rey smiled gently and nodded. "I know. I can't even see my feet anymore." She laughed lightly and rubbed her stomach.

tauhreliil:
wants to write long reply: can only come up with like six sentences
meant to keep it short: writes fucking gone with the wind
“Any day now.” (Poe or Ben)
Rey smiled warmly as she looked up to Poe. "I know, I can't wait. I'm so excited!" She giggled, almost like a child. It was surreal to her that they were having a baby, even when she placed a hand on her stomach.

A note about shipping with me
I probably already ship it
not that I deliberately start rp'ing with people for the purposes of shipping, but if there’s chemistry, if there’s interesting interaction, then yeah, I probably ship it
you don’t have to ship it too; it’s fun to torture the muse with unrequited feelings okay
I will never pressure you into a ship
if you feel like i’m pressuring you, let me know and i’ll do my best to rectify the behavior
if you want to ship a thing, pitch it to me. the answer is probably yes.
that said, don’t assume it without at least mentioning it to me ooc first.
ships are usually in their own seperate verses unless we’ve discussed something else.
if you ship with me I’ll ruin your life
xoxox i love you bbies
it’s all “accidental hand touch” this and “brief longing gaze” that, where’s my support at for “reaching up and fixing someone’s collar for them” crew??
the intimacy disguised as helpfulness! the lingering contact! the optional subdued “you look nice” as they stand too close!!
expand your pining vocabulary people

Meeting of the Minds
@reyxskywalker
Tyson had seen the young woman around the base every so often, observing the other mechanics at work while also doing work for her own training. He was fascinated by her, this woman that seemingly came from nowhere, but did so much for the Resistance before becoming an official member. It would be nice to meet her, but there was never a good time.
One day he was working on something in his workshop when he heard someone enter the lab. Coming out of his work stupor, there she was. “Hi,” he waved to her.
Rey had been looking for BB-8 that day, wondering around the base with furrowed brows. The little droid was never far from her, or if it was, had seemed attached to Poe’s side. Not today however. As she had been tinkering with an old speeder, she thought the droid could help her. However, she found herself walking into a lab and being faced with a well, unfamiliar face. She smiled gently.
“Hello.” Rey said as she waved back, a little awkwardly. “Have you seen BB-8 around here?” She questioned.
He’d heard Rey had lived on her own on Jakku for years, the only people she had to converse with being slave driver junk dealers. He hoped that awkwardness was just a byproduct of getting used to socializing with people who were pleased to see her.
He thought about where he last saw the spherical friend shaped friend. “Aisle three, said he was searching for a component that you needed for the speeder you were working on. Feel free to have a seat if you need…where are my manners today? M’name’s Tyson.”
Rey nodded and took a seat, chewing on her bottom lip. "I'm Rey. And thanks, it's nice to meet you Tyson." she said gently before nodding slightly. "I figured he went off to look for it. Little thing didn't tell me though." Rey laughed lightly. It had taken her a bit to get used to everyone on the base. Having people greet her in a friendly way wasn't something she was used to after all.
"What are you working on?" Rey questioned as she tilted her head slightly.
“Just breathe, okay? Deep breaths and just listen to your body.” (Aurora)
Rey nodded as she gritted her teeth, her hands grasping at the bed. "Ooh it's telling me to push!" She grunted out as pressure built up in her lower body. The pain that shot through her made her push, just in hopes to relieve it in some sort of way. Rey was panting and breathing heavily, letting her head fall back against the pillow.
Aurora watched placidly as Rey pushed, waiting for her efforts to bear fruit. She imagined it would be a while before then. “Good! Good girl,” Aurora said as she patted down the Jedi’s face with a wet rag. “Go with the pressure, Rey. You can do this. I know you can!”
Rey was exhausted, staring up at the ceiling as she gritted her teeth down again. She gave another long push, sweat beading at her forehead before she looked to Aurora. "I can't. It's too much." She breathed out. Rey wanted it to be over with, wanted to sleep finally, but knew she couldn't. Gripping at the bed, she mustered up all the strength she had.
Aurora figured Rey would be at this for a while before baby began to emerge. Of course, she did not say anything to that effect. She could very easily be incorrect but only time would tell. “You can. Each push moves the baby,” she said sagely. “Now focus and bear down hard. You’re already doing it, Rey. Curl around the child. Push it out.”
Rey nodded gently, letting out a deep breath as she tried to focus harder. Oh, she could feel it. She felt it each time she pushed. She bared down and pushed, screaming during the process. However, it wasn't long until a cry broke out through the room and she felt herself start to relax.
Watching Rey birth her child was a thing of awe. Aurora herself was nowhere near so controlled and calm. Once Rey began pushing again, Aurora was startled at how fast things were going. Within a few strong efforts, Aurora was holding the babe in her arms. “It is a girl!” She happily announced, putting the crying newborn on Rey’s chest. “You’ve done it!”
Rey smiled weakly, looking to the little girl in Aurora's arms before she was handed her. She felt tears pricking her eyes as she cradled her. "She's beautiful." Rey breathed out, exhaustion washing over her body. However, her body wasn't done just yet and she felt the urge to push again. "Aurora?" Rey looked up to her friend with wide eyes then. "I-I think there's another."
“I think you are ready.” (Palpatine)
Rey narrowed her eyes, pursing her lip into a fine line as she stared Palpatine down. "What are you talking about?" She hissed, hand ready to grab her lightsaber.
The once decrepit old clone was now a strong young man, with all the knowledge of the Dark Side ringing about in his skull. “For you to take your rightful place among power and glory. You won’t need that Jedi weapon, young Rey. You only need what I can teach you.”
Rey only knitted her brows together as she took a step back. "I don't want that place. I don't want anything from you." She hissed as she tried to keep her distance. She would never accept anything Palpatine offered her, there was no reason to. Everything he had done only disgusted her and she Rey would never end up like that.
Palpatine had expected as much, but for his grandchild to fall so easily into the Light? That was another matter entirely. Striding toward her, the young man cupped her cheek. “You will, in time. Do you think that Skywalker boy truly loves you? Do you think you exist for any reason other than to bring about the return of the greatest empire in history, Hmm?”
When he cupped her cheek, Rey jerked back and sneered. "He does. And I do. My existence is what I make of it, not you." She spat at him, brows furrowed as she stared him down. No matter what he said, she wasn't going to the Dark side. She would find a balance before she ever turned to that to bring about another empire.
Choice was a lie the weak told themselves. Let the small minds of the Galaxy think control is anything but an illusion. Fate was all their was. Fate was all that mattered. He barely reacted to her defiance and instead pulled back to look at her. “Is it now? Shall I show you what happened to your dear friends, again? Shall I show you the glorious truth of your life, young Rey?”
Rey narrowed her eyes and frowned, her blood beginning to boil. "You have no right to mention my friends! Just because I'm related to you does not mean I am anything like you!" Her hands had balled into fists at her side and she was fuming now. How dare he?
“How are you feeling?” (Ben)
Rey looked up to Ben and smiled softly. "Well, I actually slept last night so I'm feeling better." She chuckled light before patting the spot next to her for him to sit. "I'm okay though, I'm not glass." Though some days she really felt like it.
Ben had been worried about her. In the six months since she destroyed the Sith, Ben’s fears had only amplified. Dutifully he went over to the couch and sat next to her. “You promise?” Taking her hand in his, he kissed it. “I love you. You know that, don’t you? Why aren’t you sleeping? Is something the matter?”
Rey nodded gently as he kissed her hand, a small smile forming on her lips then. "I love you." She said softly and nodded. "Of course I know. It's been hard to sleep." Rey stated before leaning into Ben gently. "I keep thinking this is a dream and we didn't really do anything."
“I think you are ready.” (Palpatine)
Rey narrowed her eyes, pursing her lip into a fine line as she stared Palpatine down. "What are you talking about?" She hissed, hand ready to grab her lightsaber.
