Because I have way too many AUs and to avoid confusions lol.
ROBESPIERRE:
The actual historical figure from the French Revolution, 1758-1794. Not an OC, the literal historical guy. Yes I think he has a very special relationship with Saint-Just. Most of my drawings in the main blog are just historical Robespierre.
VAMPIRE ROBESPIERRE:
I thought it would be cool if Robespierre was actually a vampire, since many historical commentaries compared him so. This turned into a side project where I made a zine (L' Archange et le Diable) about him. The whole historical context is still the same, I try to research and integrate the vampirism into the politics of the period. I am still continuing to develop this idea. I made many illustrations of him.
Here is a page from the zine also.
DND ROBESPIERRE:
Dnd Robespierre has almost nothing to do with his original historical counterpart. He was literally about to get guillotined in the French Revolution then POOF he got teleported to faerun and he got turned into a vampire. The vampirism has completely gone to his brain he is fucked up and evil and gay gaslighter as hell. Here is the character reference sheet I made at the beginning of playing.
I tag him with the "dnd robespierre" tag
MODERN AU ROBESPIERRE:
Just a silly reimaging if all the French Revolutionaries lived in the modern day France....No one dies in this AU at long last (realistically the Revolution still happened etc but like dont think too much about it), everyone sort of keeps their personalities.
I am trying to make a comic with Modern AU Robespierre, it makes references to many names of other French Revolutionaries but the story is very very different from the actual history. It's more slice of life i guess. (It's on pause rn lol i drew a lot of pages but I didn't like the direction, need more time to figure out)
MAXIME:
I started playing Baldur's Gate 3 and for my first run, I tried to make Robespierre (DUH) as my Tav (custom character), but they don't have 18th century wig option so I thought okay modern au hair will also do, but then the face type I like only comes with the body type that has boobs. I played like that for a while and i just can't tolerate him with big naturals anymore so i downloaded a flat chest mod so congrats on the top surgery.
He's morally good....a little freaky.....romanced Astarion etc.....
EDWIN:
Now onto the non-Robespierre related territory....Edwin was my dark urge run for Baldur's Gate 3. He has the Durge backstory. I imagine him and Tav (Maxime) travelled together for the whole BG3 plot line, but he ultimately chose chose to doom the world and betray the rest of the party including Maxime. He's very morally conflicted.
Outside of the horrors he is just the tisms hes just a little guy....
DND EDWIN:
Everything comes back to DnD......So while DnD Robespierre is in jail, obviously it's time for me to play a different character so I decided to play Edwin. Except I can't really play an actual murder hobo in my DnD game so his backstory was modified. He is morally good, he still got the austismTM in him. He's kind of like a gay grandpa figure. Also a wild magic sorcerer.
Although occasionally, he does get the dark urge in him...
Okay I think that covers it all....or who knows maybe the list will get longer

Realized I actually missed one of the comics, sorry this one is out of order. But I think it fits the narrative anyways
2024/06/15: DnD Robespierre was feeling cheap and only paid one copper for a night stay at an Inn. Little did he know it was a magical Inn. When he woke up, he was in the middle of nowhere. The party was nowhere to be found. It reminded him of the past.
Disclaimer: Dnd Robespierre is twisted and fucked up and a vampire and has almost nothing to do with the historical counterpart he's literally Thermidorian maxxing

2025/08/20: DnD Robespierre has escaped jail. He has overtaken Candlekeep. He has brought revenge against those who wronged him. Yet he still feels incredibly alone. No one around him ever seemed to stay.

Ok in a city of which has magically combined NYC and Paris, SJ (I say who is an TA in a college for maybe sociology class) and Robespierre (librarian or antique bookstore owner or some teaching job) organize protests on streets(in this case, is against AI), the same time Hamburr pass by while Hamilton complains a lot about how the protests and strikes has caused inconvenience and Burr is just disassociating thinking of how to hook up with Hamilton
Hello! I know you mainly work primary sources but Iâm wondering if you know any secondary sources that are profoundly Thermidorian when recollecting Robespierreâs control over the reign of terror? If no secondary source, Iâd be happy with a primary source. Thanks in advance if you do know any!!
(Itâs for my history IA, if youâre familiar with the IB)
Here are some primary sources released in the months/years following Robespierreâs death that all depict him in what we could call a âthermidorian wayâ:
à Maximilien Robespierre aux Enfers (1794) by Paul-Auguste Taschereau-Fargues
Historie de la conjuration de Maximilien Robespierre (1796) by Galart de Montjoie
Portrait de Robespierre (1794) by Merlin de Thionville
But when it comes to secondary sources that largely build on these accounts and/or adapt many of their points (Robespierre was a tyrant/monster/successor to Sulla or some other Roman villain/had full control over the terror) Iâm afraid I for the moment canât really come up with any⊠Iâve mostly read modern biographies which of course make use of a more balanced way of looking at things, but I canât really come up with any (professional) author even before that argues âof course Robespierre was a dictator, just look at what Proyart wrote,â or even just âof course Robespierre was a dictator.â Other people on here are gonna have to fill in. đđ
Maybe something more from 19th century like either Thomas Carlyle, Burke, Toquerville, or Michelet ? More modern ones I can think of there are François Furet, Simon Schama or even Ruth Scurr. Some of them donât outright say he is bloodthirsty or focus on Robespierre but they definitely have that Thermidorian edge/just reactionary in general
I have actually posted the following before, but to organize all in one place i'll put them all here.
2024/08/17: A comic about DnD Camille and Robespierre inspired by this song (recommend listening to it while reading)
2025/01/30: A flashback to DnD Robespierre's time in Silverymoon. He chained a young drow named Camille to the chair to use as a living bloodbag, feeding him strawberry jam to keep him alive.
2025/04/06: More flashback of DnD Robespierre and Camille's history.
2025/05/01: The party went to the feywild. In the feywild, there is a copy of Robespierre (the real one is in jail). The party witnessed one of DnD Robespierre's memories---He was once part of the Swords adventurers and then abandoned. For the first time, Robespierre showed remorse and regret. Unfortunately this Robespierre is still just a copy and a potential threat. He was quickly destroyed by Attila Linestone.
