Sit next to me at the Convention For I require your warmth As we steer this vessel Away from haters who have sworn To eliminate our blood from here Please, Antoine, as you fight For this fragile Republic Do not forget me My heart is yours as you speak And defeat the monarchy finally
(Obviously I must write more SJ) I will join you At the Duplay dinner Where we will feast Then ascend the stairs Into realities and dreams again Finally after paperwork To cross I will hold you in my arms Until you fall asleep
That winged voyager, how weak and gauche he is, So beautiful before, now comic and ugly! One man worries his beak with a stubby clay pipe; Another limps, mimics the cripple who once flew!
The poet resembles this prince of cloud and sky Who frequents the tempest and laughs at the bowman; When exiled on the earth, the butt of hoots and jeers, His giant wings prevent him from walking.
— Charles Baudelaire, The Albatross
The fire will never end, Antoine As long as we inhale the musk And exhale our dreams and fears I do not know what this future That closed door ahead Awaits for our souls But we will remain one Just hold on to me Soft kiss to seal And we will be immortal

The Last Kiss
Here are the tyrants we have sought Cry officials and many people witnessing Tumbril full of once revolutionary hope But now all to pay the price for conspiracy Planning to set up dictatorship they claim Again more gossip and rumor to spread As this infectious disease eating the Republic The truth ever hiding by those who lie Who actually want control of this power Tempting and beginning to intoxicate them Meanwhile Saint-Just stands erectly Cooly watching hate poured out on him And Maxime sitting weakly inside the cart Escorted to their final destination of blood The Razor will spare no one in this game And they have lost despite their virtue Yet the Incorruptible will find immortality And his endless dream forever confident Will find Elysium at his side beyond here Tumbril finally stops and they disembark One last adieu and one last kiss seals Their hidden eternal love always fervent But never outlandish or explosive as fire One last kiss and Antoine goes to die Proudly upon the sanguine stained scaffold Not afraid of whatever afterlife awaits Where Maxime will unite with him for all time
So, my bro recently watched Les Amants de la Bastille and was upset that Saint-Just wasn't in it. So I drew Saintspierre inspired by this musical. I like it🥹
I recently started working as a lawyer, and this job has been really exhausting. I know it's nothing compared to the situation in Paris in 1793–1794, but it has made me think how much pressure Robespierre must have been under.
Many people say that he made terrible choices towards the end, but I don't think I can judge someone who lived under such immense pressure and accuse him of being paranoid or irrational.
I just hope he knew that, many years later, there are still people who remember him.
And at least the little Robespierre and Saint-Just get to be happy today~
