domestication is the alteration of a species of animal to suit human purposes, which takes many, many generations to do (aka a Long Fucking Time). taming is the alteration of behaviour of a singular animal and therefore, can be done within the animal's lifetime. a wolf can be tamed, but it's not domesticated. a dog is a domesticated animal that descends from wolves because we bred wolves (and later dogs) to what we needed them to be for thousands of years

take this screenshot from the tame animal wikipedia article it explains it better than me. every time i see someone mix up domestication and taming it makes me want to hurt someone badly.

Natural disasters! I never see anyone talk about that one and as a result I spent years thinking that watching my hometown get destroyed on the news and subsequently having to uproot my entire life at the age of seven wasn't Real Trauma because there was no Abuser™
