[ā³] Ā Ā || Ā Ā Much had been involved in planning for today, and he was determined to see it through ātil the end. The schedule had been organised so as to leave no margin of error ; everyone had been assigned their places, the Emperorās personal guards would see him to the border of Lucis, and key personnel would be on stand-by to respond to any situation that might occur.
All being well, nothing would go wrong. The Emperor would enter the Citadel, the treaty would be signed, and everyone would return to Gralea without incident or injury. He had heard quiet talk of such optimism among some of the soldiers - but the Deputy High Commander was too much of a cynicist to be so hopeful. After all these years, it took the Wall being reduced so much before Lucisās King had accepted the offer of the treaty. Only when his beloved city was at risk otherwise.
One of the few he knew he could count on, without question, was the very woman that stood before him. Her salute was acknowledged with a curt nod before he began to walk, pleased to see Ji-Eun fell into step with him as easily as ever. āGood.ā A mental checklist was run over once again. His weapons were stored safely with his other personal belongings in the airship he favoured, and most of the soldiers would be on airships by now as well, or on their way there.
His own additional plans would be implemented once the treaty signing was underway.
So, Ravus shook his head. āEverything has been prepared. All we need do now is make our way to Lucis, and accompany the Emperor to the signing ceremony.ā He would trust that in asking, Ji-Eun was also informing him that her own preparations had been made and she was also ready to depart.
āTant que vous avez vos maniĆØres.ā Ji-Eun quipped in his mother tongue. It was an incredibly tongue-in-cheek remark coming from a military advisor whose solitary purpose was to keep Ravus aligned with Niflheimās best interests. The hint of a smile was more than enough evidence of her lack of remorse.
She had to keep her finger on the pulse. Every hour of every day, she read the room. It was a loosely guarded secret that the former-Prince felt embittered by the betrayal of King Regis. The father who saved his own son and ran away while Tenebraeās royal family was torn asunder. Those feelings, while understandable, presented a problemĀ in this grandeur endeavour for peace-keeping.
Though Ji-Eun wasnāt a fool. Told one thing, while the reality bustled around them in the airship landing. This voyage was a militarised one. Either there was classified intel about King Regisā intentions, or Emperor Aldercaptās.
āThis signing ceremony.ā she echoed in a thoughtful tone.Ā āI find it bizarre that I have been barred from attending meetings in the lead-up. I am, after all, supposed to be your advisor.ā Boarding the airship she remained ever at Ravusā side, not even he could outrun a conversation with her.Ā āI canāt do my job if Iām not given all the information. Is there anything I should know before we land in Lucis?ā
