And finally Melora as shiny Slither Wing to wrap up this batch of the Pokemon Gijinka series! I’ve had so much fun with this illustration series so far, I will be taking a break for a bit before I do a new batch of ocs, but I hope everyone enjoyed it so far.

A bit different for this entry in the series, two versions of the same character! Xena as Minior was the PERFECT choice, a nerdy shy gal by day, opening up in her element of music and self expression at night! Of course her original base colours suited a shiny Minior.

Next up in this series is Naia, a newer addition to my Thrope cast! The Pokemon I chose for her is Comfey, as I feel it fits her vibe and aesthetic well. Looking forward to drawing Naia more in general, along with Xena of course!

Another one of my ocs but what if…Pokemon. Sid as Noivern seemed the perfect choice…the wings really give Swarm train car energy! Also he of course needed to be a cool/intimidating Mon that is actually a timid softie! Really dig the colours as well. Purple and teal suits him!

One I was sooo excited for…Ghost but Absol flavoured! Real ones know Absol is actually one of his inspirations…the Poke Dex entries telling of it appearing before disasters….when it’s really just warning people about them, not causing it….

I gave him a Mega Absol Z stone, he’s meant to have both but lost the other one. Like Sylvester I’ll design mega forms for him later!

Next pokeified oc is Finn! She is. Well. Finneon. It’s in the name. Also flying fish. It’s just right. Love her colours here, I do always love exploring ocs outside of their original colour palettes!

Next up in my oc Pokemon Gijinka series is Sylvester ! Since he’s originally based off Saw the Ride, Banette being a puppet was the obvious choice! Also figured giving him a mega stone would be a fun little element…will have to design a Mega form for him soon!

Have another Poke-ified oc! Enzo as a Sneasel is just…chefs kiss. Really wanted to give him a racing uniform for this design, it really suits him! Had fun with this one especially working with the colours.

Next up in my series of my ocs as Pokemon/Pokemon Gijinkas is Rodney as Turtonator! Been enjoying using Pokemon I’ve never drawn for these. It’s great practice! This was another that just felt so perfect for him, in aesthetic and personality as well.

For 30 years of Pokemon, I want to celebrate with a new art project I’ve started working on. Turning some of my ocs into Pokemon Gijinkas! Pokemon as a franchise means a lot to me, and is probably why I’m the artist I am today. Starting off with Calista, who I felt Drampa was a perfect fit.

Visually Drampa worked so well with Calista for me. The colours are literally Colossus’ track colours! Personality wise too is also a great match, shes very protective of her son Rodney and Drampa are said to basically throw hands when kids are bullied!This really is so full circle too. My first “humanized” characters would have been Pokemon gijinkas back in the day, I guess it all links back! I think I really love it, it’s such a great character design exercise and so much fun.
