It was on their old blog so I can’t find an archive of it sadly, but Salem was a previous roadkill victim. Mainly during the AI racism wave of roadkill attacks. The post complaining about it seems lost to time since his old blog was terminated, but I was trying to keep an eye on any artist who was affected back then and your current posts reminded me of it.

I know these are very different cases. One is a string of in poor taste behaviors and the other is actually illegal. But I think it’s an interesting fact and I wish I’d remembered to screenshot the connection before it was too late.

Obviously I don’t agree with or condone everything Salem has ever said or done, but even people I don’t agree with deserve better than roadkill slop. I don’t think anyone involved in either case has pointed this out and I wanted to let you know.

I was an attempted victim of roadkill. Flashing lights in my inbox in hopes the reader was photosensitive. Never actually was at all a fan of or connected to salem. (I thought his art was kinda cool, but felt off about him, so I never really looked at his art much.) Then lo and behold saw people talking about how much of a scumbag he is, and just kept watching. It's relatively low-stakes (for me) discourse to look at to keep me from looking at worse discourse that actually gets me stressed.

interesting that salem hasn't mentioned anything about heather and salem (oc) being siblings in his recent art, especially since he's been fine with posting incest before under the guise of it being some complex, dark story (or just outright posting shit like dess x carol art)

the closest he's come to reminding his audience that heather and salem are siblings was his mention of familial trauma

also, just as proof the two are siblings, he has said this on one of his alts:

That teeters the line between what someone may consider ok, compared to what someone may consider you need your hard drive checked for.

Sometimes I think he doesn't actually know what he's saying and instead uses the big buzzwords that other political bloggers use so he can look cool or smart or something.

Every quality he has he dislikes is a quality of himself. Every duality he wants his little pseudo cult* to dislike is qualities of himself.

*I don't want to throw around that term willy-nilly. It really does feel like a cult atp. A single figurehead that the followers deem as important, defend, and shill out all their money to. At every turn it feels like he guilt trips and manipulates his followers to stay in their circle and shill out more money for him.
