Unpopular opinion: I hate going home for winter break... being an RA means that over winter break I have to go home with my parents and I do love them and all but I would rather be in my dorm. I love being able to stay up late and sleep in without my parents saying I should get up or having them think that I am depressed. I also prefer my bed at college. And this is me venting but I am more agitated and angry whenever I’m at home idk why but I am.

So my school has our RAs follow this curriculum to make sure that the programs are educational and beneficial to the residents. We are in the Health and Well-being Module. I did a program where we watched the movie Wall-E, painted flower pots, and grow flowers. It was one of my most successful programs with 15 people showed up (if your an RA you will understand that this is a lot for a program lol). At the end of the movie the residents want to stay and do MORE!!! I was so happy that I immediately put on the movie the Lorax to follow the theme. It was so much fun and everyone enjoyed it!

I know I don’t have really any followers or if any RAs will actually see this but I wanted to share for the few that will see this and be like “damn that’s a good idea” or “wow maybe I should try something like this” either way I can’t control your reactions.

“Is my student allowed to bring her own mattress in the fall?”

Ya know I’m just chilling on duty during freshman orientation and this is literally what I heard in a freshman’s conversation: “so when did you realize you could put your legs behind your head?”

I thought maybe I heard them wrong but what else would I have heard????
