Elita: Sounds fucking complicated right?

John: A little, but I understood that heat is the problem. You’ll get it with time I’m sure. So how will it work?

Guy: By joining two points in space together, so, in theory a ship, or rocket or whatever could move instantly from one point in space to another. Just the radiation levels are very lethal right now.

John: That’s a worm hole right? Or something like that?

Guy: Essentially, yes. 

John: See, I’m not completely stupid, not as smart as you two are, but it’d be nice if the space guys didn’t have to be gone for so long.

Guy: It'd be nice if I had a space station to test this stuff out on... you know, in actual space. But Apex and me sort of... wrecked the last one.

John: I doubt they will put one back in anytime soon, billions and billions of dollars to do it. The wreckage did a lot of damage. Would have been more had you not been there though Guy.

Guy: yeah… It’s not something I want to go through again. One fight to the death with millions of lives at stake, is more than enough for one man I think.

John: No, I wouldn’t want that for you either. Nobody knows it was you?

Guy: No, they think dad and a small team was responsible.

Elita: That’s kind of accurate, the team just happened to be him, me, you, and Mom. Though you did most of the work in fairness…

Guy: *clears throat.* Can we… Can we talk about something else, hey? Don’t want to reminisce about the bad old days too much do we?

John: Well I think this FTL is going to be great, after all, we can’t depend on Sixamite technology forever right? We should come up with some of our own.

Guy: Yeah well... I'm basically reverse engineering some of that to do this, it's not all my own ideas I guess nobody before me and Isaac was able to? I dunno.

Elita: Isaac's a creep.

John: Isaac. I think I remember him or you mentioning him.

Elita: Guy's boyfriend.

Guy: Shut up

John: Here's some of the produce I make carefully arranged in a nice salad. I’ve got a lot of folks asking for these. 

Elita: Guy needed to consume about 6000 calories a day. I needed at least 5000, so when there was free food on offer. Neither of us was going to say no. We’d have liked something more calorific but, again, free food! And it was really nice. 

Guy: It's very good John boy.

Elita: Yep…

Guy: You seem happy here huh?

John: I am. It’s really nice working with the land. I’ve come up with a new fertilizer combination that’s lighting things up and producing great results like what you’re eating. Better fed goats makes better cheese too. I’ll send a batch of stuff home with you for mom. Plenty of eggs too. The girls produce a lot, so I have plenty to spare even after my orders. I do. It’s quiet with me and Zoey here, the only time it gets jumping is when they see Henny or Harlan comes over with his kids. Lot of good hard working folks here.

Guy: Yes, eggs! The more the merrier

Elita: Sounds like you love it, I enjoyed myself here last time.

John: Yes…, I haven’t seen that fox critter you chased off since.

Elita: Yeah, the bastard knows better!

John: Harlan keeps telling me I need to replace that weird statue too, but I dunno. It was kind of out of place.

Elita: ah yeah, sorry, I think I kinda broke it I was y'know, leaping about, kicking all kinds of ass

John: Nah, don’t worry about that. You were saving my chickens. If you hadn't gone outside for that cigarette… My poor girls would have been dead.

Elita: I haven't touched a cigarette for weeks now. I think that's the last time I actually had one was here! 

John: Well, that’s good. Moderation is key. Mom smokes too much but she's had a lot on.

John: How’s professor-ing going? How’s school?

Elita: Guy finally managed to tear himself away from the salad, carrot sticks and dip to speak finally.

Guy: Fine... Isaac and I are working on something pretty big at the moment,  an FTL…

John: Yeah? FTL, faster than light?

Guy: Yes.

John: Holy cow, that… that’d be amazing. How close are you?

John: You two are hilarious! *he laughs*

Elita: You'd think the more that happens it'd get less weird. and... it doesn't.

Guy: No. It doesn't.

Elita: So what about you John? Any news? Local goss? Any chance of a coffee?

John: Definitely a chance for coffee. If you want gossip, I’d have to call Harlan over. I don’t really keep up with that.

Guy: Yeah sure, let's get coffee.

Elita: I take mine extra strong

John: I have sulanian and henford. You’ll want the sulanian then if you’re anything like mom.

Elita: Oh my gods... yes. That must be expensive.

John: Coffee is a pretty new crop here… but sulani is the best. Grows better there.

Guy: I dread to think what our mom's coffee bill is... especially with Cat coming round and drinking it too

John: How are they doing? Tiberius and mom?

Guy: Yeah pretty good brother.

Guy: Mom's doing great.

Elita: You'd never know. She's almost back to normal, I think… except for she's lactating like a cow. I think dad accidentally put expressed breast milk in his coffee the other day... crazy part is he drank it no problem.

Elita: Yes!!

John: Promise and I’ll get my suit tailored and try not to look too much like a bumpkin.

Guy: John, you won't regret this! Trust me!

John: I’m sure I won’t... Sulani was lovely when I was there last… so what have you both been up to lately?

Elita: Ah there it was, one of the toughest questions that he could have asked.

Elita: mainly dad has kicked our asses for various reasons... not literally, but, yeah we had a Bob Robinson tongue lashing.

Guy: We did.

John: Ooh, must have been a lot because he doesn’t usually get too mad. I can’t imagine what you did to trigger that.

Elita: It was basically ALL Guy's fault. He has this new secret girlfriend, and they went to a bar, and he got into a fight with like... 8 other dudes, and then, she threatened them with a knife, and they fucked in an alley out back of the bar. Apparently…

Guy: It wasn't EXACTLY like that.

John: Wow, a lot more than I needed to know, but sounds like she’s a wild one. So what did you do to trigger dad Ellie? Break more hearts?

Elita: I'm innocent.

Guy: Godsdamned... innocent my ass! She's been sneaking about with some vampire, and she's got this friend at school a good for nothing stoner.

John: Sure, as innocent as Guy, right? Twin powers, is it even possible to be twins who’re born at different times to different people?”

Guy: Yes, think of it John... Sun. Sea. Sand. Beautiful sleek, sensual, sun kissed island girls sipping rum, sucking on fat cigars and the gentle rumble of the volcano in the background.

John: it sounds nice, but I still have a ton to do here too… I hope I can get it finished in time.

John: Well, I do have a lot of work. More than Elita did in the barn the last time she visited. That boy cried for a few weeks, you know. The goats are expecting and veggies don’t harvest themselves you know.

John: So, I also have to meet with the real estate lady for the land I need. I will make time, I’ll just have to work a bit harder and then take this as a short vacation.

Guy: Never mind land John. Think of the girls!! Weddings are when magic can happen John boy.

Elita: Eww... Guy... please... clean up the contents of what's going through your head like, right now.

John: Magic? I mean seeing two people who love each other devote to each other in front of the powers that be… I suppose that could be magic… but last time I went to a wedding it wasn’t really magical.

Elita: He's not talking about magic like that John... he means you'll get some easy sex if you want it. Basically....

Guy: Thank you! I knew you'd make a good interpreter.

John: Ah, well. I really don’t have a lot of time for that kinda stuff… I’ll go along though. Would be nice to hang out with my siblings.

Elita: It's worse than we thought, Guy... it sounds like a case of....

John: C’mon guys,  it’s not like that. I’m not a virgin. I just have a lot to do here. More than I thought a small farm would be.

Guy: I could make a clone of you if you want....

Guy: Oh my gods!!

Elita: We stopped right where I wanted us to stop… um more or less… Guy was a little bit peeved.

Elita: Meanwhile at my oldest brothers little farm cottage… He was in for a visit from a right pair of punkasses. AKA, me and Guy. Mostly me though…

John: You see Zoey, the secret to a good vegetable patch, is patience and understanding, and just a hint of back breaking labor.
