so… life happened and i kinda forgot to post on here whoops 😅 

anyway since my last post i have finished my first semester at uni and passed all my modules with a first, turned 20, made some amazing memories with friends and gone to some new places, and just started semester 2 at university!

days at the library, trains on time and cute sunsets 🧸

(친구가 좋은 일을 금방 시작했고 돈을 모으고 있다고 하고,) 이왕이면 빚도 갚기 시작해야 하죠. = (Your friend said they've started a great new job and are saving money) Well while you're at it, you should start paying off your debt.

어차피 할 숙제라면 이왕이면 미리 하는 게 낫겠다. = As long as the homework has to be done anyways, you might as well do it in advance.

~게/기 마련이다 (to be natural; to be expected; to be by definition)

기억이라는 게 일정한 시간이 지나면 자연스럽게 잊히게 마련이다. = Memories, by definition, tend to be naturally forgotten after a certain period of time.

자기 불신이 많은 사람들은 나를 깎아내리는 사람들을 주변에 창조하기 마련입니다. = It's natural for people with a lot of self-doubt to create people around them that will bring them down.

예로부터 (since old times; all throughout history)

예로부터 창작하는 사람, 글을 쓴느 사람들의 공공연한 비밀이 바로 메모였습니다. = For all of history, the open secret of creators and writers has been keeping notes/memos.

예로부터 겨자의 씨앗은 향신료로 사용되었다. = Since ancient times, mustard seeds have been used as spices.

예나 지금이나 (as always, in all ages, then as it is now)

예나 지금이나 사람들은 친구보다 돈에 마음을 더 써요. = As always, people care more about money than their friends.

선생님은 예나 지금이나 여전히 따뜻하고 자상한 분이다. = Our teacher is, as always, caring and thoughtful.

눈에 띄게 (remarkably; conspicuously, noticeably)

휴가철이 되자 도시의 거리에는 사람들이 눈에 띄게 확 줄었다. = During the holiday season, the city streets were noticeably less crowded.

최근 몇 년을 고비로 우리나라의 이혼율이 눈에 띄게 증가했다. = Over the past few years, divorce rates in Korea have increased remarkably.

~는 측면에서는 (from the side/angle/viewpoint of ~, in terms of ~)

산을 개발하는 것은 자연이 파괴된다는 측면에서 신중하게 고찰되어야 한다. = Developing mountains should be carefully considered from the angle of destroying nature.

근로자는 고용주에게서 임금을 받는다는 측면에서 종속적 구조를 지니고 있다. = Workers have a subordinate structure in that they receive wages from their employers.

~은/는 말할 것도 없고 (not to mention ~; to say nothing of ~)

아랍어는 말할 것도 없고 영어와 프랑스어도 정말 유창해! = Not to mention Arabic, she's also fluent in French and English!

화재가 나면 재산 피해는 말할 것도 없고 사람의 목숨까지 위험할 수 있다. = Fires can be life-threatening, not to mention damaging to property.

Soooo I spent whole monday studying maths, I went for a walk, had few online classes in the morning and did duolingo.

last exam day for this November and for semi final !!

tomorrow, we have no classes so I really love how I'll be able to rest the whole day, hahaha

Also, our prof for microbio, medterm and cardiorespi anaphy have already released our grades for semi final and... I'm happy with my results, especially with cardiorespi :)) I'm not one to share much about grades but I'm just really proud with how I was able to get 1.25 (97) for my semi final grade in cardiorespi with how exhausted and stressed I've been the whole term and the other two subjects also resulted really good.

I shall manifest the same result for finals and the next semesters to come 🙏.
